VEGAS BABY!!!

I'M GOING TO VEGAS!!!!!!!!

Hubby has a work conference out there in mid-April and, as I've never been, we decided that I would go along and have a little mini vacation while we're there! :-) I'm very excited!! Plus, since hubby is going to be in workshops and stuff all day a couple friends from here are going to be coming out for a couple days and [livejournal.com profile] chelle110 might be joining us for a day, too. We're hoping to get flights and hotel all booked this week. I kind of want to stay at New York, New York. Any hotel recs?

Now, the big question - WHAT SHOULD WE DO??? I definitely want to go see Thunder From Down Under. Don't judge. Who wouldn't want to see hot Australian men taking their clothes off? ;-) But anything else a must see out there? I'll probably do a little gambling. I'm not big on that, but I can't not, you know? So, I'll need to brush up on my Craps a bit. Perhaps I shall win a truck load of money and treat my friends to some awesomeness at the SPN Con. ;-)

Oh, and my parents are amazing and have agreed to come stay at our house while we're gone with Martouf. I'll be nervous for sure leaving him for so long, but a bit better since he'll be home, at least.

VEGAS, BABY!!!!!!!!! :-D

You have to at least visit the Canal and shops at the Venetian...it's amazing!...it's pretty nice to stay at as well...the rooms are fab and the bathrooms to die for!...

And go to the Forum at Caesar's Palace....shops to die for!!...

Go watch the evening show at Treasure Island too...really great for a laugh..and the fountains at the Bellagio....and the Volcano at The Mirage....and they're all free...just walk along the Strip at night and check 'em out at the set times...

Paris is fun, and although the Eiffel Tower replica is brilliantly done it's not quite the same as the real one (although it's less rusty and a lot cleaner)...

Any of the Cirque de Soleil shows are good too....we went to LOVE (which was the one set to the music of The Beatles) - simply stupendous show...

*sighs*..I <3 Vegas.....wish I could go with you!!..have an awesome time...

Deeds xx

I fully support your desire to see Thunder From Down Under.

If you can swing it, go for one of the Cirque shows, because they are truly spectacular. I saw Mystere last time I was at Vegas, and it was amaaaaaaaazing. If you like oysters/seafood, The Oyster Bar at Harrah's is totally awesome. AVOID Trader Vic's at Planet Hollywood. They don't list the prices of their margaritas, and it's something like $15 each. Nasty surprise. I stayed at the Tropicana, and it was perfectly decent for the price. It was recently renovated (and still renovating, I believe), and the new rooms look AMAZING though sadly I didn't upgrade to those nice rooms. They do have a fabulous new pool.

Yay for going to Vegas.

So many excititng things to see. Don't for get the big shopping malls away from the strip. The sales there are sooo good. L-Jade will tell you how much time we spent shopping just in one.

L-Jade is booking for the rooms for us so I am not sure where we would be staying this time for our upcoming trip. Will let you know where we end up in a couple of weeks.

Oh wow! I love Vegas. I highly recommend Mandalay Bay. I really loved it there. There is so much to do, you don't really need to gamble. Fremont St is fun to go to to see "Old Vegas". I loved all the little shops and cafes in "Paris". I also enjoyed going up the"Eiffel Tower". The Hard Rock is worth a look if you enjoy rock and roll memorabilia. I have to admit I really got a kick out of the Liberace Museum. I also love all the shopping - the Forum Shops at Caesar's. I'm forgetting so many things right now. But i hope that helps.

Of course the strip at night, which others have already mentioned.

Shows we went and saw and I enjoyed all of them are: Criss Angel, Excalibur dinner theater and I took Chris to Fantasy. I wanted to see the Aussie boys, but no female friends with me and Chris didn't want to go to that. No fun going to something like that and not share it with someone.

Yay for getting to go!!!! I know you will have a great time!

If I were to go, I'd want to see the Blue Man Group at the Venetian! I saw them in Orlando and I loved it! I've since bought the DVD and downloaded all their songs. I have heard that the show in Vegas is even more spectacular.

I hope everything works out for me to come out there and hang for a few days! The airline I'm looking at booking is $26.99 each way for the flight (!!!!!!), so now it's just a matter of knowing for sure I have a good babysitter for Squishy while I'm gone.

One morning (if we're all not hung over all to hell) we've got to do the drive out to Red Rock Canyon. It's not all that exciting, but it's cool to see if you're into the nature thing. I've got some great pics of me and Kristin and then me and Jay there a few years ago.

Otherwise I'm game for anything. =) I did Thunder From Down Under a few years ago and I don't think I stopped laughing the entire time I was there!!! It's super cheesy, but worth it. Ooooh we have to go to the top of the Stratosphere and ride the rides waaaaaaaaay up high!
