Blame It On The Alcohol

Rachel writing a song about her headband - hilarious. Totally.

The party:
What THE HELL was Rachel wearing? I mean, I know she has horrible fashion sense, but that looked like the green version of the most god-awful pink puffy dress I had to wear as Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan (and I thankfully no longer have any pictures of). Seriously. What was that thing? How does she have TWO gay dads and no fashion sense? How has Kurt not yet dragged her to the mall for a make-over now that they're friends. Honestly. It makes NO sense.

Drunk!Blaine is amazing. As I knew he would be. I do wish we had gotten the scene where Kurt freaked out over Blaine's hair being all curly and fluffy and lovely when it's out of its gel prison. Perhaps not surprisingly, Blaine's casual wardrobe reminds me a lot of Darren's. Hmmmm....

THE KISS. OMG. I am going to be watching that scene over and over again cos HOLY FUCKING HOTNESS BATMAN.

THE SONG. THE SONG! OMG. Darren and Lea both sound so amazing on that song. Though, honestly, given the set-up they should have let them sing it live. Cos 1 - they're drunk; 2 - it's Rachel's basement; 3 - THEY CAN ACTUALLY SING. I had hope when we got Lea doing The Headband Song live at the beginning, but no. :-( That's OK, anyway. Cos it was still amazing. And Blaine's drunk dancing and head bopping was epic with the hair all loose and free and bopping around. There really needs to be a Free Blaine's Hair petition or something. There are ways of making curly hair look controlled and managed without gelling it down into a helmet. Perhaps this will become part of Blaine's self-discovery. That he can let his hair down (so to speak) and still be an acceptable young man. *nods* Yup. Although, where was the scene of Blaine falling off the stage from the preview? I wanted to see that. :-(

And, OMG, where was the awkward breakfast scene between Burt and Blaine?!?!?! That would have been so amazing!!!! We best get some Burt & Blaine interaction soon. *pouts*

So, the whole bi thing - I think after last week's revelation that Blaine really isn't as put together as we had initially thought, I was OK with. Cos, well, it's true. If he's never really been anyone's boyfriend or done anything that goes along with that, then how is he supposed to know for sure? And, well, Kurt is sort of a hypocrite (which show chose to ignore, as usual) cos, hello, he dated Britney for about a week and pretended to be straight. Which, to me, is almost worse. Blaine, at least, was not trying to deny his attraction to men. He was just expanding his horizons and seeing if he was perhaps attracted to girls, too. In the end, we got the resolution we wanted - Blaine is definitely gay. Hopefully, this is one step closer to him and Kurt finally being able to get their act together.

OK. Now, I'm gonna go out on a limb and admit something that may not be popular - Schue/Bieste. I ship it. I think she is awesome and she could do a world of good for Will right now. Unfortunately, the preview for next week kind of ruins that with Holly Holiday returning. However, that is just a guest appearance, so it's still a possibility. How did Will drunk dial, Sue, though? What is Emma's new last name? Is it near Sylvester alphabetically? Or does will have his contacts sorted in some strange fashion?

Ke Dollar Sign Ha was meh. Not a fan of her, so I didn't really enjoy that part of the show. And the puking didn't really help.

I did like the pledge thing at the end. Honestly, it makes sense. I guess. I guess I didn't hang with the right crowd, cos I didn't run around getting drunk in high school. My Friday nights were spent watching Star Wars or bowling. Oh, yeah. Didn't have my first drink until 21. But, with what goes on nowadays? Yeah, telling just not to drink doesn't work any more then telling them not to have sex does. Kids are gonna do what they want to do. The best you can do is teach them how to do it safely and responsibly and hope they're listening.

Wow, that got long.... Oh, Glee. <3

Yeah! The whole party sequence was awesome all together. I loved the explanations of the different drunk girls, and I realized that I am most of those all combined into one superdrunk!

And yes, free Blaine's hair. Hair gel is like photoshop, only awesome when used sparingly and correctly, and often unnecessary on very handsome men.

Yes! The different drunk girls were awesome. I am the happy drunk. Which makes me happy.

LOL That might be one of the best explanations for hair gel use ever! I'm gonna have to remember that... ;-)

That was particularly brilliant, wasn't it? And I just came up with it on the spot too. Not that I'm bragging or anything.

It really is. I may have to make a Free Blaine's Hair Comm and have that be our slogan! :-)

You have my blessing.

And I never drank in high school either. I had a sip of an amaretto stone sour when I was 18, but that's it. I didn't actually finish a drink until I was 25.

My fridays were spent watching Farscape.

I never had a sip of anything until 21. I was laaaaaaaaaaaaame.

I'm all for Blaine's hair occasionally being free, but I like the helmet too. Mostly because I like the idea of clean-cut boys getting down-and-dirty in private.

And, well, Kurt is sort of a hypocrite (which show chose to ignore, as usual) cos, hello, he dated Britney for about a week and pretended to be straight.

I don't think they failed to show it. We know he's being a hypocrite and Blaine called him on it using his own context and experience with Kurt. Do I think Kurt needs to get off his high horse? HELL YEAH, but I think the writers actually did a decent job of staying true to the character (because Kurt is kind of a bitch).

Schue/Bieste. I ship it.

If this isn't popular, I don't want to be popular.

I don't think that I'd really want to see it in the show—mostly because I think the show would turn it into some shite about "fat girls are okay to date"—but if they went down that route I'd be fine with it. Bieste is awesome and I love that she's a real friend to Will.

I did like the pledge thing at the end. Honestly, it makes sense.

I think it was the best way they could end that episode with a positive message. I certainly didn't run around drinking in high school either (Trivial Pursuit on Friday nights, baby!) but I was aware it was happening outside of my circle.

Kurt is kind of a bitch

This is true. I have missed bitchy Kurt and he was back in full force last night.

The Schue/Bieste thing could be tricky. Myabe just a couple dates and then they realize they're better friends or something. I just want more of them cos I think they're awesome. They're sort of like Puck/Lauren in about 15 years.

I felt sorry for Kurt during the whole ep. He had to watch the kiss and then he had to hear about Rachel and Blaine's date. At the end Blaine decides he's really gay. Well, duh. I thought it was a bad thing to do to Blaine's character. Anyway, I did a mini-rant in my journal.

I would've loved a Burt/Blaine/Kurt scene. That's gotta happen. Please, please, Ryan Murphy.

The ep was just meh for me.

Yeah, the whole Blaine thing was weird. I mean, if they wanted to do the bi thing, why not use one of the characters that might actually be bi - Brittany or Santana. Probably Santana. I think that could have been a really good storyline for her. Though, there have been rumors that something like that is coming for her and Brittany. So, we'll see....

[identity profile] lmichelle599.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)

Yeah, they need to explore the whole bisexuality thing with Santana and Brittany. I think they're both bi. I'm all for Britana. I also want Artie and Tina back together. :)
