Compartmentalizing. That's the key.

I remember being disgusting by the character call sheet while this was still being cast. Pullman is a decent actor but it's difficult to allow that sort of character to continue. Maybe RTD thinks he makes the perfect villain due to his vileness. I say it just makes me angry the longer he continues to live. Letting him go for legal reasons was wrong. I don't doubt the capability of the US government to make someone just disappear. Even if they can't be killed.

I enjoyed CoE for the first 3.5 days. The ending was what killed it for me. There was already some questionable stuff from seasons prior (not to mention the senseless character assassinations and character deaths) but Ianto dying in such an unimportant manner and Jack killing his own grandson was a guaranteed way to turn me off.

But then, I compartmentalized. If I pretend nothing that I saw before was something that I actually saw, then maybe I can at least watch what happens next. The hard part is going to be Mekhi Phifer's character. He's an asshole, and I don't like him one bit. Far less than I even gave Owen a chance.

I know what you're saying about Gwen, and I hated her for the first season or two. But I thought she came into her own in the last season and was probably the best part of CoE. My love for Rhys makes me worried for him. He's in danger, I tell you. If Jack can confess his sins about his grandson, Gwen could potentially be the heart of reason for him. But I doubt RTD's capability to bridge that gap. So, I compartmentalize.
