Holy hangover, Batman. But, DAMN was that an AMAZING show last night. Even though, get this, Christian was the freaking opening act!! So, we sadly only got like an hour but what an hour it was. Seriously, it's in my top 5 shows. My voice is gone, my ears are still buzzing a bit. I'm not even sure where to freaking start.... LOL

I went to the show with my friends who we will call K and R. Another friend of ours was supposed to come, but she was having a bad day and felt like crap so stayed home instead. When R & I got there, there was a woman behind us who was buying a ticket at the door, but we had an extra, so R just gave it to her. R is awesome. And yay, new friend! We made lots of new friends last night. LOL K was meeting us there as she was coming from her own place. We got there about 7:30, so we had an hour to wait and got ourselves set in a pretty decent location. Maybe 5 or 6 people back from the stage. Not bad at all.

Then finally it was time for the SHOW!! hgfkytdkyxkyljuhgrfahrfa OK, so, set list.

He opened with American Made then Calling All Country Women. The closed with Luckenback, TX and The House Rules. The other songs in no particular order since I can't remember were Something's Gotta Give, Happy Man, Let Me Go, Thinking of You, Middle American Saturday Night and that's all I remember right now. That might be it actually.

ETA: Oh!! How could I forget this!! Riley Freaking Smith was in town filming for The Playboy Club, so Christian called him up on stage to sing with him during Luckenbach, TX. It was awesome!!

But, the best thing EVER happened during Middle American Saturday Night. OK, so, here's the thing. I'm 6' tall in flats. Last night I had on 2 1/2" heels. I had a good 5" on everyone else in that place. Plus with the fauxhawk hair, I'm kind of hard to miss. LOL And apparently, I was like the only one who knew MASN. Plus I was having a good old time. Singing, dancing generally acting like an idiot. So, during MASN. Christian looks out into the audience and I get the point and smile! \o/ Woohoo!! That was fantastic.

Then after, K was trying to do her thing to see if we could somehow get into the VIP room. If anyone could do it, she could. So, we're all standing at the bottom of the stairs chilling and trying to figure out what to do next when this guy walks by, stops and points right at me and says, "You! You were awesome! I saw dancing and singing along with everything!" I was like, "Hell yeah!" We high five and click beer bottles and he goes on his way. 10 seconds later, my brain kicks in, and OH HOLY SHIT THAT WAS THE FUCKING DRUMMER!! ;sakjrdg;sdaohgsrdhg We wander after him out into the main part of the bar. R was waiting out there at a table where we had ordered food anyway, cos, dude, this is my IN, right? But shit like this never happens to me so I don't know what to do. As I'm working up the courage to go over to his table and offer to buy him a drink, this whole group of people walk over and join him. Dammit. Moment, lost. We ended up passing each other in the hall a couple more times with waves and high fives and as he was possibly on the way out, I manage to actually work up the nerve to stop and ask if he has time for a drink. Sadly, he does not as he had family in town and he needed to go catch up with them. But still, it was awesome.

So, now K & I are trying to figure out if we can get down to Illiopolis tonight for the headlining show Christian is doing. It's like 3 1/2 hours away and we'd probably have to spend the night. Luckily, I have an overnight bag as I spent the night at R's place. So, yeah. I don't know. We'll see.

I only took a few pictures with my phone as I was too distracted by the HOT to not just stare at it. But my pictures are HERE if you want to take a look.

And now, it is time for the Star Trek Con! Woot! :-)

So jealous. Glad you had a awesome time, wish I was at the Trek con with you since it's Leonard Nimoy's s last time at a con but I wasn't able to swing it what with being out of work for 6 fucking months and now I have only been at this new job for 2 months so asking for a day off is so not in the cards since I am angling to try and get full time. If I get full time I want to be up there hanging with you during my spring break.

BTW I doubt I told you but I got into Washburn's Masters in Social Work program and I start in January. It's a super competitive program I truly didn't think I had a shot in hell of getting in. But hopefully this road will lead to my true calling...

I really need to update my LJ more often...I am such a slacker, LOL.

I actually ended up leaving the con before anything really happened cos I still feel like crap. I was just stopping in for the day mostly to see some friends and not so much with the guests..

You did?? CONGRATS!! That sounds awesome! :-)

I hope you are feeling better....hangovers suck. I still remember you praying to the porcelain God that one year in Chicago LOL.

It is awesome, I am really looking forward to starting at Washburn and getting on the right path towards my real profession, I've had enough with retail bullshit. Just two more years and I'll be on my way, I have a real good feeling about this program, it's ranked pretty high nationally.
