Back and gone again....

Back for a day and then tomorrow morning I am OFF TO NEW YORK!!! If the weather holds out that is.... LOL

I'll be taking my laptop with me, cos I can't not, really. And there's a slim chance I'll be too chicken shit to go out and actually do anything by myself other than the shows I already have tickets for, so I'll need to amuse myself somehow. :-D

But I am so beyond excited for this, I can't even tell you. I just... I don't get to do stuff like this. This is a major thing for me to be doing and it just... It's gonna be awesome, right? It can't NOT be awesome. It's DARREN!! :-D

I'm seeing the show Saturday night and the final matinee on Sunday. I haven't figured out what other shows I want to see yet. I'm kinda playing things by ear as some of what I might end up doing is going to depend on other people. I'd like to see at least 1 or 2 other shows since I have no idea if I'll ever be back in New York.

are you coming in tomorrow? you could see something tomorrow night and the sat mat. there is the half price ticket booth on 47th and broadway. there are also sites online where you can get the codes and go to the box office directly with them to get the discount or buy them online. the sites are broadwaybox.com, playbill.com and theatermania.com. i am coming in sat for 2 shows. would you like to meet for lunch? i am seeing follies at 2 and seminar at 8. what hotel are you staying in? some really good shows are jersey boys, wicked and lion king but there are no discounts for those as they are still doing really well but there are plenty of other shows to see. anything goes got great reviews as did warhorse,mountaintop,follies,etc.

I think I actually just got plans for Saturday sorted out. Sorry. It's all moving kind of quick now that people are actually getting into the city. But thanks for the website recs! I will definitely have to check those out. :-)

i didn't realize you were meeting people. i got the impression that you were alone since you said you might not leave your hotel room except for the show.
if you want to see darren at the stage door for an autograph or a picture you might want to go tomorrow night or the sat mat and be there at least an hour before the show ends. people who haven't seen the show line up to see him. if you try after the show sat night or sunday it will probably be too crowded by the time you get out for you to get near him. you have to be at the front of the barricade. otherwise you don't have a chance.

Yeah, that was kind if an exaggeration. :-)

One friend and I have tentative plans to do the stage door tomorrow night. She's arriving earlier in the morning and we're gonna scope it out in the afternoon to see what it's looking like. I've seen pictures of the craziness and I don't know if I'm prepared to battle it! LOL

you have GPS on your phone, there are cabs everywhere. Get out there and do stuff on your own. Otherwise, you will regret it, I know I certainly would have. Have a great time, I'm so glad this happened for you.
