At 32, I think I've finally figured out what I want to do with my life:
Open a bakery.
I love baking. I do. I've been trying to play around with different cupcake recipes lately (as anyone who follow me on Twitter can attest to) and I think they've come out pretty decently. I have ideas for more combos. Some ideas for cakes and other things.
I've also been trying to think what my angle would be or something. Like, if everything would be named after Broadway characters or something (I made a killer Glinda cupcake a couple months ago). But, I dunno. Just stuff I've been bouncing around in my head. I don't even have a name though, yet. Definitely need a name.

Here's a picture of the oreo cupcakes I mentioned on twitter:
I failed at cake balls and am attempting cake pops sometime this week. Once I get over my strep. <3

Next weekend a friend of mine is coming over while hubby is out of town and we're going to try cake pops. We're starting with the box mix and canned frosting since that's the right ratio and then I figure I can try and branch out from there.

That's what I plan on doing too since it's my first attempt. My Mom got me a how-to-make cake pops kit or something for Christmas and I am dying to try them out. The pan is already in the ball shapes and everything! :)

And having a Broadway themed bakery sounds like it would really be a cool idea, something that people would be willing to check out (I know that I would!)

I have so many ideas for Broadway character cupcakes. One for Elphaba which would be awesome if I could pull it off. The chocolate chip banana bread I made a couple weeks ago could be Flying Monkey Bread. ;-)

I know a friend of a friend who literally just started doing this a few years back. Just took the plunge and did it. At first she was working out of her own kitchen and just doing deliveries, farmer's markets, festivals, small restaurants/coffee shops, etc. Two years later and her business has just exploded. So, yes, it can totally be done!
Also, I really love the Broadway theme!!! I've got tickets to see American Idiot next week -- I'm dying to know what your version of an American Idiot cupcake would be! Or a J. Pierrepont Finch cupcake!!! Ahhhhh! So many possibilities! All of them delicious!
Ahem. I may be a tinsy bit excited about your plan. *g*
(Um, also, I need to follow you on twitter so I can hear more about your cupcake exploits. I'm @jessipsa.)

Hmm... J. Pierrepont Finch cupcake would probably be either like super sugary since he's all high energy and bouncing everywhere or some kind of like martini flavored thing.
I'm switch842 on Twitter. As I am everywhere. :-)
