switch842: (Glee: Blaine Microphone)

When I first heard Glee was doing Whitney, I was worried. Cos it sounded like it was gonna be a shoved in episode and not make any sense with anything.

I am glad I was wrong.

That was actually a really phenomenal episode. Everybody's freaking out made sense. Even Will's, in a weird way.

Darren fucking KILLED IT in this episode. The emotional arc he had to take Blaine through was just intense and he was so spot on with everything. That scene in Kurt's bedroom where his voice was breaking and the tears were there, but not falling, GUH. And, shallow note, how gorgeous did he look during It's Not Right when they were on stage and he was in the all black? That was some serious glamor lighting going on there.

I totally get what Kurt's going through. I've been through it. I might be kind of going through it right now, actually. Not that my husband isn't the amazing loving husband that he should be. He is. But, his job is making him work insane hours right now, so we're not really seeing each other that much and getting that kind of attention from anyone is flattering and, you know, makes you feel good. Doesn't mean I love him any less. It doesn't mean anything is going to happen with anyone. It just is.

So, yeah. Loved this!

Preview for next week: Is Kurt doing Phantom? Cos, HOLY SHIT. You know I love him, but I'm not sure he could really pull anything from Phantom off. Maybe All I Ask of You. Anyway, that's gonna be interesting.

I was glad to see Kurt and Blaine have a rough time and work through it. I think it gave a lot of credibility to them having a real relationship and not just being the only gay guys and together by default.

And what they went through? UGH, did I ever relate to it. To both sides even. Relationships are hard, yo.

Also, I was pleased to see Blaine finally admit that he probably shouldn't have been texting Sebastian at all. Continuity, what?

They really do have the most stable and realistic relationship of anyone on that show. Well, them and Tike I think. But, yeah, it was really nice to see how they actually worked through their problems and fixed it and moved on.

I liked the ep, but I'm going to have to disagree with you about the Whitney aspect. I felt it was just her songs shoved into the ep. Where was "The Greatest Love of All" and "I Will Always Love You"?

I'm glad they finally center on Kurt and Blaine (finally!). I loved Blaine saying he changed schools for Kurt. Thank you. That "counseling session" is Miss Pillsbury's office was great and was exactly what they needed. I was disappointed we didn't get a kiss and only a hug, though. If it were Rachel and Finn, I'm sure we'd have seen a kiss.

I thought TPTB did a great job with the characters' fears and anxieties, but Whitney seemed like an aftethought to me.

Well, they already did I Will Always Love You the week Whitney happened to have passed away. The Greatest Love Of All, I don't think would have really fit with the overall theme of what Will was trying to get the kids to do.

Oh, yeah. If Rachel & Finn had been in counseling, there would have been a 5 minute make out scene for sure. But let's have Britanna and Klaine confess their love for each other and you get a hug. *sigh*

I totally agree about your take on Darren, and also getting Kurt's angle on things.

I was SOOO distraught for Blaine in that bedroom scene. He was so so very upset the poor boy. I think this quote from this recap (http://buquad.com/2012/04/25/the-gleecap-dance-with-somebody/) puts it best:

"He’s often been very poorly written, comes off as one-dimensional, and shares one too many hip thrusts, bow ties, and weird hand motions with the audience.

That being said, Blaine’s Eyes of Sadness were like Adele and Sarah McLachlan serenading blind, amputee orphans and homeless corgis on a sinking ship in the middle of the cold, chasmic Antarctic Ocean.

Now excuse me as I rob City Convenience of all its Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

And Kurt. Yes I've been there. I've done that. I kinda hope Kurt apologised to Chandler so the poor kid wasn't crushed, but I completely understand Kurt and it hurts thinking about how he was feeling too.

Oh. and Darren's eyes.

WHOA

And the counselling scene. The FEELINGS. The ISSUES. These boys are so in love... brings a tear or ten to my eyes!

(and holy shit your future fic where they break up due to long distance is seeming... well... prescient)

I NEVER WANT TO SEE BLAINE CRY IN SADNESS AGAIN. MY HEART CAN'T TAKE IT.

That is a very nice quote. Eyes of Sadness. LOL (I've dubbed his suit from It's Not Right "The Black Suit of Deliciousness". Hehe.)

(I have no future fic where they break up...... Sara Bareilles has give me many ideas for such a fic, but I have not yet written anything.)

LOL my had sorry was getting you confused with stoney ... [insert loser gif here]!!

I was crying for Blaine and I wrote on a forum (before I saw that quote) that I wanted to hug him for ever and provide him with copious amounts of ice cream and a viewing of Bridget Jones' Diary!!

My poor baby Blaine :(

I'm glad they made up at least, but there's more heartache if Kurt goes off to NYC as planned...

Waaaaaah!

my husband puts on Glee and I watch while playing on the computer. I find it difficult to just watch TV. Still, from the opening five-part acapella harmony to Kurt's song to Blaine, I must have stopped playing and started watching, and intensely, four or five times during this eppie, a BIG deal for me. Not unlike a two-thumbs up!!

I liked it!!

Sorry, I have no Glee icon

I really wish they would do more stuff like what they did with How Will I Know. The kids are talented enough that they can pull that kind of stuff off. But it's seems lately they've just regressed to karaoke versions of the songs. Which, you know, is fine if not terribly interesting.
