Livejournal Scrapbook is going away and will be replaced by the mysterious "Photo Album". Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation.

+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect, but the URL will be different.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.

This really pisses me off. There's is no reason at all to change the Scrapbook except to do one more thing to drive away the largest part of their user base - fandom. God, LJ are really a bunch of fucking idiots.

I might be able to scare up a Dreamwidth invite code for you if you want. There's no scrapbook there but they don't pull shit like this. I've stuck all my linkable images in Photobucket instead.

I have a dreamwidth, actually. I signed up a few months back when they opened sign ups to the general public without an invite code the last time LJ screwed things up. It's just kind of hard to really get into using that since everything is still here comm and friends wise for the most part. And, really, without a scrapbook, it's not really going to meet my needs right now.

No worries. I still keep a reading page at lj for my non-DW peeps, but I do all my posting at DW and set it to cross post to lj. If the scrapbook is vital, though, then it's not a good alternative :( hopefully they'll add it soon.
