Does anyone have experience using Coppermine Photo Galleries?

My husband has some webspace and I'm thinking about scrapping everything that's on the LJ photoalbum cos it's just awful and loading up Coppermine for my photos. I see it used on almost every fan page out there, but is it easy to use? Customize and all that?

I used it back in like ... 2003 ... I think? I remember it being easy to use, but I would assume it's totally different now.

I'm looking at their website and it doesn't seem too bad. But my html and css knowledge is VERY limited, so, yeah....
