PROMETHEUS
This was an interesting one. I'm not really a fan of the original Alien series, so I was a little hesitant going in, but if nothing else it looked like it was just going to be a visually stunning film. And it was.

As for the story.... I don't know. I'm not always a huge fan of the super intellectual contemplating the meaning of life type movies. It's a movie. So, yeah. I don't know.

I liked it well enough, but I doubt I'll be adding it to my collection or seeing it again. 3/5

BRAVE
This was a last minute decision. My mother in law called Saturday morning and offered to babysit. Who's gonna say no to that? Not us. So, we did dinner and a movie. Pixar is always good, so this was great. Shockingly enough, it's a Disney movie where both parents live! It was a little different in some aspects than the previews lead me to believe, but I won't spoil those here.

I would definitely recommend this one. 4.5/5

MAGIC MIKE
Needs more BonerBomer. LOL

But, as most people seem to be saying, this was definitely much more than just a stripper movie. Alex Pettyfer still annoys me, though. I don't know. He just gives off huge douche vibes to me. This movie didn't really help, either... LOL

But if Channing Tatum in real life is actually anything like the guy in this movie, I would like to be his friend. I haven't been a huge Channing fan before this movie, but I am now. He was really hilarious. The sister was kind of meh. Wasn't really a fan of the actress, so that kinda put a damper on that storyline.

Overall, very good movie. I enjoyed it. 4.5/5

Ha. Just posted my Magic Mike review as well. I'm so crushing on Channing. His dance moves were amazing as well as his ass. You could bounce a quarter off it.

Alex's character was kund of douchy. We don't know if he stopped the pills or not. I liked the vibe between Mike and Brooke.

Not enough Matt Bomer. I agree.

Channing seriously has moves. For a guy as largely muscular as he is, he is very agile and light of foot.

I adored Brave, but yeah, the commercials hide a lot of what actually happens, lol.

I look forward to seeing Magic Mike, probably on dvd.

I remember one commercial from Brave that showed the little showdown between Merida and when her mom went full on bear in the woods and the commercial made it look like Merida was going to be facing down and maybe killing that bear herself (possibly the same bear her dad faced). So, that was a little weird to see how that scene actually worked out.

Apparently, the Magic Mike DVD will have the dance scenes in their full. Which, that's gonna be FANTASTIC.

I had to chime in that Channing Tatum was immensely likeable and a fabulous dancer, so he made the movie for me. I've actually seen it twice (two groups of friends wanted to go), and I enjoyed it more the second time, because I had adjusted my expectations lower. I really disliked Matt Bomer's non-developed character, and I love Matt Bomer, so I am indignant on his behalf.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Channing. And slightly disappointed in the lack of Bomer. Not just cos he's Bomer, but we didn't really get a whole lot on his character so the bits we did get were just kind of "Bwuh?", if you know what I mean.

There was an article on some website about casting a Magic Mike sequel and they want him as the only returning cast member. I would agree.
