It was so wonderful and heart wrenching and I'm so so so glad they let Darren do it live on set. It wouldn't have had anywhere near the same impact if he was miming along to the nice and pretty studio version.
Now, see, for me, Don't Speak is probably my least favorite song ever. I hate No Doubt. So, that scene was watched on mute so it lost a lot of the impact for me.
