Convention - Day 1 Cont'd
Well, yesterday was The Peter
Williams Show!! Teryl was supposed to have had her Q&A yesterday as
well, but a work commitment prevented that, unfortunately. She was able
to make it for the cabaret (which I did not see) and will have her
Q&A today. So, that's good.
Peter Williams is a very funny man. So nice, too. As they all are. There weren't a lot of people here yet yesterday, so the audience was rather small. Someone asked if he had auditioned for a role in X-Men 3. He did, but has not yet heard anything. They are still very early in pre-production so all hope is not lost on that. He also made the announcement here first that he will be in the new ABC series "Fallen" as an angel. They were signing the deal yesterday, so breaking news for us!! It was also this little girl's birthday, so he brought her up on stage and we all sang Happy Birthday. He has a really nice voice. He also shared the story of when he was filming "The Chronicles of Riddick" with Vin Diesel. His daughter was having a birthday while he was on set filming, so she came down for that week as she would have otherwise been home alone. Well, Vin remembered that he had mentioned it was her birthday, so after lunch, he walked to the top the huge set that was the outdorr set (if that makes any sense). He grabbed a bullhorn, pulled her, him, Judy Dench and his own bodyguard (who he never goes anywhere without) up there with him and had everyone sing Happy Birthday to her and then brought out a cake and then presented her with a disc that had the jpegs of all the photos he had the photographer take. Seems like Vin is a really nice guy.
So, that was pretty much that. It was then time for Photo Ops. Went in sat down, was told that I had a rather aristocratic look about me. If that's a polite way of saying I have a big nose, I'll take it. :-D Erin was after me, and he remembered her from Vancouver and proceeded to heft her into his lap for the picture once again. It was quite amusing. :-)
So, today we now have Don, Tony and Teryl, Quite a full day. Off for breakfast soon and will be later with more stories I am sure.
