Is it really sexy?

There's this trend in J/D slash fics that I've noticed, but can't seem to comprehend: Whenever the fic calls for Daniel to seduce Jack in some form or another and they describe his clothes, it's always black jeans. And I just don't get that, cos to me, black jeans are not sexy at all and any man that owns them should be shot and the pants burned. Is it just me? Am I the only one who thinks black jeans are the devil? Cos, seriously, if Daniel's not wearing loose linen pants, it's black jeans. Never regular blue jeans, but black. Eww.

Why are black jeans bad? I just bought a pair and bought my son a pair of faded black jeans. I've never heard any reason they're bad. Is there something I should know? *g*

OTOH, I really dislike it when people describe Jack's or Daniel's clothes in fics unless it's relevant to the story (i.e. they're going to a costume party). If it's not really relevant, I think we've all seen how they dress on the show, so why describe it? If readers dislike how Jack or Daniel dress on the show, they can easily imagine them wearing different clothing as they read--probably not even consciously. *g* When people describe their clothing, it's often in ways that turn me off because it's not how I see them. *g*

It might just be a personal thing, but black jeans seem very 80s/really bad country rocker. I dunno. They're blue jeans. They're supposed to be blue. But, like I said, could just be me. :-)

I'm sure it's not just you, I just had no idea there was anything wrong with black jeans. I don't usually even notice what other people are wearing unless it's something really odd (and by really odd, I mean Christmas lights on their head or something like that)--which is another reason I dislike it when people describe a character's clothes in fics. I imagine them as the whole person that I already know, and I don't want details that contradict that unless it's meaningful to the story. (I don't like it when people describe them physically either. *g*)

But black jeans? Country rockers? *g* LOL I have no clue about such things. What about...jeans of other colors? I've had some that were green or tan or something like that, too. hehe

My idea of fashion is that I go to Walmart and buy the exact same pair of stretchy jeans that I've been wearing for at least 10 years. I buy a new pair when the old ones wear out. I usually have two pairs so I can wash one while I'm wearing the other. *g* And that's usually all I own besides sweatpants. *g* For shirts I wear colored t-shirts and rarely anything else. Right now, though, I have two pairs of blue jeans and one pair of black jeans. hehe

Colored jeans, I dunno. Jeans are supposed to be blue, but that's my opinion. If you have colored slacks, then that's another story. Like khakis or some other sort of cotton/twill kind of fabric. I just know what I see on What Not To Wear, and they seem to know what they're talking about. :-D
