Just posted in the J/D thread on Gateworld:
"Orrymain was the whole reason I got into J/D I have to confess; I just love her fics!">
Would I be completely out of line if I told this newbie she was on crack and to please get out of our thread?

Date: 2008-02-26 07:16 am (UTC)My opinion: I think it's okay to think less of this person for liking those stories...but privately. hehe Does that make sense? Other people will make up their own minds about it and about her. She may be new to slash, new to fanfic, and maybe she just isn't very discerning. Maybe eventually as she reads more stories her opinion will change and maybe it won't, but either way, I think it's not a good thing to openly (publicly) mock her--or Orrymain. An honest critique is fine, IMHO, but ridiculing her (or people who like her stories) is not.
I may be in the minority on this issue for all I know, but that's what I think about it. I assume your question was actually rhetorical, though, right? *g* I'm answering this because it seemed like you were asking for opinions like in a poll, but if not, please ignore. *g*
