Here's what came out... (LOL)

1) Bobby's not dead!!! I cannot tell you how relieved I am about that. Now I'm wondering if that was a fake spoiler or something. Cos it couldn't have been talking about Ruby. She's not "beloved" or whatever it said.

Now, as to Bobby's speech to Dean about John. I've seen some comments about people having issues with it and specifically about Bobby calling John a coward. Now, I can see why people would have issue with that. And maybe it's just my perpetual optimistic side, but I didn't really take it that "seriously." I took that speech more as a metaphorical smack upside the head to Dean. Someone needed to do something to get him out of the funk/depression spiral he was in. And we all know how much Dean looks up to John. So, if it took insulting John's memory for Dean to snap out of it, well, then Bobby would do that.

2) Ruby is. Ding dong, the bitch is dead. Halle-frickin'-lujah. And how awesome was it that Dean AND Sam killed her together. That skank. I'm so glad Sam was able to learn the truth about her before she bought it. And she totally changed that voicemail, right? That look on her face... I just wanted to smack it right off. And now that we know the truth her "acting" really does make a lot more sense. It'll be interesting to see what re-watching season 4 looks like with this knowledge, ya know? And this bring up an interesting question --

3) Did season 3 Ruy have the same agenda as season 4 Ruby? Or did that whole thing not come together until Lilith kicked her ass back to hell in No Rest For The Wicked? It was just such a big change in attitude. I mean, I know something must have happened when Ruby was caste out, but is this it? Did Lucifer let her in on his plan as a test of her loyalty? I'm just not sure.

4) On a much more shallow note, mucho Dean/Castiel eye-fucking. It was glorious. :-D Though, that scene where Castiel shoved Dean against the wall and took out the knife, I swear he was gonna make Dean go Sam and drink his blood or something. Just for a second. But I was all, oh, please no...

5) And thank God Castiel got his head out of his ass and decided to do the right thing. I mean, he's gonna get his ass kicked at some point for what he did, but man, is it a good thing he did that. I really cannot wait to see what happens with him next season.

6) Sam didn't need the demon blood to do what he did. Which is so completely mind-boggling I'm not sure where to start. So, let's try and start at the beginning. Dean goes to hell. Sam feels it's his fault. Which it kind of is, but not really. You know. So, while Dean is away, Ruby comes back and prays on his fragile psyche saying she can get him to the demon that holds Dean's contract (Lilith) and then Sam can kill her. So, they start practicing. And it's going OK, but there seems to be something holding Sam back. At some point, Ruby suggests (I hope this was all Ruby's idea) that he drink her blood to get stronger. Something in Sam sees this as a good thing and an "excuse" to break down that mental wall that was holding him back. Think about it - Ava didn't need to drink demon blood to get as strong as she was. She was able to get there all on her own with just a little practice. Could Sam have gotten there on his own? Probably. So, why didn't he? Because he knew deep down somewhere that what he was doing was wrong. What was Sam's tipping point where he started to accept that the blood was a good thing? Was it while Dean was still in hell? And he wanted to use that to try and get Dean back? After Dean was resurrected? And Sam found out how broken Dean had become and he became even more determined to get his revenge and "fix" Dean? I'm thinking it must have been while Dean was still in hell. And here's why - if Dean had been around before, I don't think Sam would have gone there. I think Dean would have been able to pull Sam back from his path and find another way to get to Lilith. But Sam was so far gone by the time Dean got back that there was no hope at that point.

Wow, that was a really long paragraph.

7) So, now Lucifer has risen and where does this leave us? Dean is still going to need to send him back to hell. And we know Lucifer needed "a very special child." Why? Well, demons can't just roam the Earth as is, really. They need a vessel. Who better than our very own Sammy?

Next season is going to be AMAZING.

See, that's my issue here. With other people's issues, haha. Because, yeah, there is absolutely no indication that Bobby meant what he said. That wasn't even remotely about John in the slightest. It was all about Bobby trying to kick Dean's ass into gear. If invoking John's name and spitting on it will get the job done, so be it. People say things they don't mean all the time. I don't understand why it's a hard concept to grasp that characters do the same thing.

Exactly! I mean, John wasn't perfect by an stretch of the imagination. But if Bobby throwing him under the truck got Dean's head back in the game, then that's what he would do.

Plus, you know, I doubt John would mind his name getting besmirched. Dude is the epitome of practicality over sentimentality.

So much yes. Hence why he told Sam to leave and never come back instead of trying to talk it out and make things work.

K, so I'm thinking the thing that held Sam back was that he fully believed his powers were evil, a 'gift' from Azazel, something supernatural and NOT GOOD. He saw first hand what became of Ava and Jake when they accepted the power, heck you can even throw Max and Andy's twin in there. There's just no way he could have known that it was Azazel perverting the special kids. The power was just that, power, neither good nor evil. So he knew it, and Ruby needed him to practice and so she gave him his feather...

As for a very special child, I'm just guessing that Lucifer was looking for Sam all along - he was the chosen one before he was even born. It's just Azazel needed to find him so he could place him on that path.

I'm rather suspecting that season 5 is gonna be the boys saving people, hunting things, getting chased by humans AND demons while Dean tries to figure out how the hell he's gonna send Lucifer back to his prison all the while making sure Sammy doesn't get anywhere NEAR Lucifer because he might be the chosen vessel.

Betcha, betcha, BETCHA that Ana will beam the brothers outta that church and die for her trouble...

Anna's already gone. Castiel got rid of her a couple weeks ago. Was it The Rapture? Or just last week? Anyway, yeah. Anna's gone.

I do think there will probably be a "reset" of sorts next season. The apocalypse is here, sealed and done. So, no more worrying about that. And the HUGENESS of it. They're back to just focusing on one main task - Lucifer. Just like Azazel.

The power was just that, power, neither good nor evil. So he knew it, and Ruby needed him to practice and so she gave him his feather...

Exactly.

I dunno...I can well imagine that Ana will make at least one return visit to the brothers. Her capture was rather boring and I guess I was hoping for just a bit more (and better) closure for her character :)

Yeah, that sudden YANK! was pretty abrupt. I actually like Anna, so I wouldn't mind if she came back for an episode just to really tie it all up for good. And now that Cas has gone rogue, maybe there's more reason for her to come back, too.

Exactly! :) Which is what I'm thinking will happen. She'll manage to escape while all hell is breaking loose in heaven, go save Sam and Dean from Lucifer and then die protecting them.

Oh, and she'll also give Dean his angel wings ;)

I felt that Bobby was just trying to get Dean's attention - cuz it looked like he'd been talking for awhile and Dean was just staring out into space. He called John a coward, followed it up with a reasonable explenation and then made sure to tell Dean to NOT be his dad. I thought it was fantastic :)

Yes. I loved that speech. Really, really thought it was excellent. And just what Dean needed to hear. Truth or no.

re: #3. I think S3 Ruby did, in fact, have the same agenda purely from how she held off telling Sam how to save Dean, because she didn't want Dean saved in the first place since he had to break the first seal. I've decided to fanwank the difference as a combo of being back in Hell and excitement over getting the apocalypse ball rolling making it harder for her to control her crazycakes (which, of course, completely bust out the second she was all giddy that Lucifer was coming)

Oh, yeah! Cos Dean asked her and she was all "There's no way to save you." I had forgotten that. So, either Katie really is that much of a better actress or Kripke is a genius and Genevieve's bad acting was what he wanted.

Haha, honestly, that's just my fanwanking it, and I think they probably really intended Ruby to be mostly-good until partway through S4 when they realized most of fandom wanted to throw Genevieve out a window.

And the thing is, while I was never wowed by Katie's acting, I do think I could've bought a 'good' Ruby from her, but the beginning of S4 completely killed that because there was absolutely nothing demonic about Genevieve's Ruby (probably unintentionally), which meant she had to have a hidden agenda.

I dunno. It makes sense. Can I join in your wanking? ;-)

But I just feel like Gen never really grasped the DEMON aspect of Ruby. Seriously, even that chick they had play her in that first flashback was better. I'm just glad she's gone and we don't have to worry about her anymore.

Okay, so I was gonna comment on this yesterday but I had all kinds of internet trouble. :P Anyway...

A big WORD to everything you said! Bobby lives and Ruby dies!! *cheers* Heh, I echoed that "Ding dong, the bitch is dead" in my review. ;) I was talking to my mom about it before, and she brought up something that scared me. She said "I hope she stays dead. What if Lucifer can bring her back?" No. Just... no.

As for #7, I think it's very possible...I think it was very deliberate the way they had Azazel ask Lucifer "what child?" and then they cut right to Sam in present day. I just hope that Dean can keep him from becoming Lucifer's vessel.

No. Ruby is dead. Ain't no way she's coming back. Though I do think A LOT of the issue I had with her was Genevieve's acting. I mean, I'm sure she's a very nice person and all, but it all just seemed so stiff and forced. I think the only way I could swallow Ruby ever coming back was in another host.

I think A LOT of next season is going to be dealing with Dean trying to kill Lucifer and keep him from getting at Sam.
