From John Rogers' newest blog:

"The Eliot story isn't meant to imply anything about his backstory. Or, if it does, I would caution you into laying the most literal interpretation onto the story. That character's seen a lot of nasty things in his life, and certain things tweak him more strongly than others. But it's a fair bit more complicated than the straight ahead read ..."

Phew! So, it would seem that Eliot himself was not actually abused as a child. It was just his highly protective nature towards Those Who Cannot Protect Themselves coming out. Thank you, John! :-)

But I think its a good sign, that they know Eliot's backstory and will, perhaps, reveal some of it at some point.

Yeah. From what I've seen and heard in various interviews it does seem like they have a full backstory figured out for all the characters. It's just a matter of when to reveal what and how much. Cos these aren't the kind of people that are going to be spilling personal secrets willy-nilly, ya know? I really think how they've been handling it so far has been great.

Phew!! I guess your experiences shaped who you are and Eliot has seen a lot of bad things including abuse especially on a child so it brings out the need to whump ass anyone who beats up a child. Definitely need more Eliot backstory.

Definitely need more Eliot backstory.

That we do. Not sure how much we're actually going to get, though....
