switch842: (Leverage: Parker Smile)
Remember after "The Experimental Job" we were all "Are Hardison & Parker dating or not? We're so confused!" So, I went and asked John on his blog and he answered! His reply:

They're not seeing anybody else, but are kind of feeling around the edges of "dating." As you've seen, Parker's understanding of "dates" is pretty odd. There's a bit of frustration going on here, which you'll see discusse din "The Boys Night Out Job".

So, I guess we get a little more explanation next week. :-)

ETA: From the same blog post:

4.) Why did everyone get a coat except Eliot?

4.) Eliot is warmed by his rage.

Oh, John. LOL

John Rogers really needs to stop mentioning fanfic and LiveJournal on the Leverage commentaries. He's giving me a complex....
switch842: (Leverage: Nate&Eliot)
I've figured out why I like Human Target - It's Leverage 2.0.

Not exactly, but the basic character types and story structure is there. Especially this season with the addition of Ilsa and Ames.
  • Christopher Chance is Eliot
  • Winston is Nate
  • Guerrero is Hardison
  • Ilsa Pucci is Sophie
  • Ames is Parker

    There you have it. :-)

So, over in Rogers' question post on his blog for "The Morning After Job" someone commented with:

Okay, in the season 2 commentary for The Order 23 Job (geek much?), y'all said that even though the theories run that Eliot being abused as a child is what compels him to act on behalf of children, that that wasn't the case.

The question now is, did y'all change your minds on that point? Because every time a child is involved, or he thinks one might be, things get very touchy very quickly. There has to be a reason, and you have to give it to us, even if it's not the reason we think. Something's going on there, because even though I really think Eliot has a soft heart despite what he does, most guys like him aren't overly concerned about kids unless something is underlying."

And this has always intrigued me, too. Especially their insistence that Eliot was not a victim of child abuse. For awhile, I thought perhaps it was something like a friend of his was when he was younger. But something just occurred to me as another possibility.

If we add into this, Eliot's reference to his nephew in "The Miracle Job" in season 1, this alludes (to me) that he is still in quite close contact with his brother/sister (I prefer brother myself) to know what it is his nephew would like in terms of fun. So, what if, Eliot had a younger sibling (I'm going with the assumption that the nephew's parent is an older sibling making Eliot the middle child), who was left in his care for some reason, some tragic accident happened and the younger child died? I think this would definitely instill the "must protect child" vibe we get from him, but also be a little more interesting than a friend was a victim of abuse. It makes it much more personal and more to Eliot MUST protect whoever he can, cos he didn't back then.

Of course, I may need to rewatch "The Future Job" and his reaction to Parker's confession about her brother.

Anyway, that just happens to be how I feel about it. What do you think? ;-)

I got the best reply ever to my prompt over in [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic. Today's theme was Bonds. Whatever kind. Literally, mental, familial, etc. My off the cuff prompt was Leverage, Eliot/Sophie, during a job gone wrong Sophie has to play hostage to Eliot's captor and I got THIS AMAZING FIC in response. Seriously, go show the author some love. It's AMAZING.

    Day 1-26 )

Day 27 - Best pilot episode: LEVERAGE!!! I loved it from the beginning. It was just great. The set-up for all the characters, the flashbacks, CHICAGO. Yup. It had me right away.

switch842: (SG: Michael Kiss My Ass)
The Chicago Con is in a couple weeks and to be honest, this whole con is looking kind of meh. First, Jason had to cancel. I got to see him a couple years ago, so I'm not too disappointed, though I was looking forward to his concert Friday night. Then, someone on GW mentioned that the tentative schedule had been posted, so I went to take a look to see what was going on. The dessert party - Dan Shea. That's it. Um, not so much. I mean, he's funny and all, but really? No Shanks? No Flanigan? No Hewlett? Let down.

I think this just really confirms that this is going to be my last full out convention. I'll probably still do a day pass if any friends come into town (aka [livejournal.com profile] brihana25 or [livejournal.com profile] whisper99). :-D But other than that, pretty sure this is it for me. Is it weird that I want to tell Michael good bye? Like at the photo ops. I mean, we've kind of bonded. He for sure recognizes me now (in a good way, I think....). So, yeah... Anyway...

But I'm holding out a very slim hope that perhaps Creation will get Colin to replace Jason. Probably not, but a girl can dream...
