I'm confused...

OK, so this embedded media attack thing that happened, I read through the post, but I still don't really understand how I can tell if my journal was attacked. I checked the post I had made last week with my newest vid. It didn't have any of those weird "tags" it talked about. And the embed still seems to work. So, am I safe? Is my journal OK? HELP!

The entry/entries you needed to check were you most recent. They, or it, would have contained some extra code at the bottom, usually about 4 different embeds. They linked to a malicious flash website and somehow just by viewing your friend's page that had this on someone's entry was enough to infect your own journal (in theory). LiveJournal temporarily disabled embedding while they worked to get rid of the hacking script. The script is gone and embedding is already enabled again. The only real downside, other than the annoyance of having to clean up an entry, is that it *might* have snagged your email address from your profile even if you have it set to not show. But that's only if you were affected.

It doesn't appear to me that you were infected at all. I don't see any of the signs on your journal or post that would have indicated that you were infected.

I just got to LJ and noticed that my latest entry had those funny embed codes at the bottom. I guess I was infected. I've fixed it, and hopefully nothing bad happened. I had no clue about all this cuz I've been gone since 8am this morning.
