So I think I can safely say this isn't a fluke:

GABRIEL IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It started last Friday night with a sudden 7 hour stretch. The next night and every night since it's been a solid eight, sometimes eight and a half hours. It's been so freaking awesome. I have had to get up a couple times to reswaddle him. But he's never really woken up and it's right back to sleep. So, yay!!

Also, the weaning has been going well. Now that we've found a formula he likes, anyway. The second day was a little rough as he was quite fussy after the first bottle of formula. But I wasn't sure if it was that specific formula or just the change in general. The next day, tried another sample we had and that went better. Still not great, but better than the first. Then hubby picked up some of the Gerber formula the other day and that has been awesome. He's been chugging that stuff down like it's breastmilk. Plus, really no spitting up with it. We actually did just clean out a monster poop. It was BAD. Blech. But expected.

I had a bridal shower to go to today so hubby was alone with Gabe for about 5 hours. The longest yet. But it went great and they survived. :-)

So, yeah. All is well in the Switch household. :-D

*envy*envy*envy*

Neither of my kids have ever seemed to be able to sleep through the night without waking up, or staying up late, or what have you.

Sleep IS wonderful. And he sounds like an awesome baby.

:-D

He is such a wonderful baby. He does have his moments, I will admit. But for the most part he is very easy going.

The first night my oldest slept through the night, I didn't get any sleep at all, because I kept going to check and see if he was still breathing. "He's supposed to wake up now, he always wakes up now, he needs changed, he needs to eat, he's supposed to wake up, why isn't he WAKING UP?!"

I called my mom the next morning all frantic, and she laughed at me. :)

The first night I must have been so exhausted because I didn't wake up at all until he did and I was like "It's 5:30?!?!?! Holy crap! Did he cry and I missed it?" But nope. He was just fine!

YEAAAAHHHHH! That's awesome!

I remember the first time Griffin did it. He'd been waking at around 2.30 or 3.00 for a middle-of-the-night feed and he was drinking a LOT so I figured he wasn't about to give it up, and then one night he just kept sleeping. And I woke up every hour, LOL. And from that night, he never had a night feed again. Funnily enough, it was when he finally made it to the expected average weight for his age.

Glad you've found a formula that fits. It's a glorious moment :o) That'll probably be helping with the night sleeping because it's slower to digest than breast milk so it fills the tummy longer.

Doesn't it feel fantastic to get a full night's sleep?

Yeah, he had been getting up pretty much twice a night. Around 1/2 am and then again around 4. So, the sudden stop of that was a little boggling. But it makes mommy very happy! :-)

It feels like forever and a day since I've stopped in here. The last thing I knew (consciously) was that you were pregnant and here we are. Time flies.

Congrats on the sleeping through the night thing. It was your Hallelujah Chorus that made me both laugh out loud AND want to say hi to you.

Hope all is going well. You are a Supernatural fan, yes? I've finally started to pick up where I left off (I've only seen season one). Look out... here I come!

Here's hoping he keeps it up for good! Overall, once I got Carter to finally sleep through the night, he stayed that way. Kids really rely on that routine. They need it and will thrive on it if you can keep a good, stable and steady one. :)
