Ski trip was a success. Martouf LOVED it and was surprisingly very, very good at it like right away. He just instinctively knew what to do to turn and go faster. He's an amazing kid.

Here's some video if you want to see )

Well, he's almost 3 so he's not really a baby, but still. :-( It started sometimes Wednesday night/Thursday morning when Martouf apparently threw up sometime during the night, but he didn't cry loud enough or some get us so we didn't see it until Thursday morning when we went to get him up for the day. He's had a bit of a fever and general cold symptoms since then, but then I was just out doing some last minute shopping and hubby called to say he woke up from his nap screaming and crying that his stomach hurt. So, they're off to the pediatrician and hopefully nothing is too seriously wrong and it's just a bad cold. But, ugh, I hate when he's sick. :-(

For Christmas, Martouf got this toy plane that has a remote control with it. The remote just has forward and reverse on it, so nothing complicated. He HATES the remote. Seriously, if you try to use it, he will freak out, RIP IT OUT OF YOUR HANDS and put it out of reach. It's the most bizarre thing ever.

No seriously. I was so worried I was going to feel like crap after ballet class today with having done NOTHING during the six week hiatus. But dammit, I feel awesome. Class was awesome, I didn't lose any flexibility, I was thisclose to getting a double. I knew I just needed new shoes. My old ones are so old I have no idea when I even ordered them.

However, earlier this evening, Martouf took a little trip and bashed his head into the foot of our couch. Yup. Big ol' goose egg right between his eyes. Ugh. Luckily, no blood and his pupils are dilating, so no concussion. But he was not a happy baby for awhile there. :-(

But this morning! Martouf went to his first storytime! My mom and dad signed up for a storytime thing at a local library for toddlers and caregivers. So, every Friday morning they're going to take him. And he was very well behaved, I was glad to hear. When we do storytime before bed he likes to touch the books and turn the pages and I was a little worried he might try and do that, but he did not. Yay! :-)

That vid bunny from yesterday? Totally now in official pre-planning stages. The lyrics are in a Word doc for plotting, I am downloading all the Blaine episodes from Amazon so I don't have to use clips with the network logo crap all over them. I may need to wait a few eps to see if there's more footage I can possibly work with. We'll see, I guess. By the way, can anyone recall any eps where we see Kurt & Blaine walking together? Besides the slo-mo hallway after their first meeting that is. ;-)

In general, today has been an exercise in patience. Martouf is getting like four new molars at once, so he is very, very crabby. Work exploded on us this morning. And, ugh, it's something I should have caught. I really, really should have. I did catch half of it, not that it ended up making any difference as we never reached a decision on how to fix what was going to go wrong before it did. Even if I had caught everything, it probably would have still exploded. Perhaps not to the extent it did, but it still would have been bad. We have a temporary solution in place. It's a pain in the ass, but it's the best we can do for now. The permanent fix won't be in place until May as it involves some fairly heavy IT changes. Grr....

On the upside, I did get to go to ballet today. My parents came down to watch Martouf since he has not been doing well with the babysitting there. And today would have been just awful with the teething. So, that was good. It was a good class, too. I feel sore, for sure, but the good sore. Hopefully, I'll be able to walk tomorrow. The shins are achin' a bit as we speak. Took some ibuprofen, may need to ice later. *fingers crossed*

Oh! And that haircut I was contemplating the other day? I found a pic of it not styled like that and it's pretty much your basic chin length bob. So, I don't know. I'm so waffly on these things. LOL

And I think that's it. How's y'all's Friday going?

I went to go see Black Swan this afternoon with my mom and a friend from work. It was... interesting. Definitely a Darren Aronofsky film. I think my reaction to the movie can best be summed up by, "OK, then." I can totally see why Natalie Portman got a Golden Globe nom for her role. It's really intense.

Martouf seems to be doing OK. We've given him a couple doses of Tylenol today and his fever seems to be almost gone, actually. It was down to 98.8 just a few hours ago and his last dose was at 10:30 am. He's still stuffy and sniffly and stuff. But, we may have dodged a bullet with the ear infections. *fingers still crossed*
switch842: (Leverage: Parker Pout)
Martouf is sick again. :-( Another cold at least and he's doing some things that are making me think his ears are bothering him, so we're off to the doctor in a bit. I hope it's not another ear infection. He just got over the last one 2 weeks ago! Poor guy....

ETA: It's not an ear infection. Yet.... It's a little red, but there's no fluid. So, it may turn out to be nothing, or it could just be we went in too early and it could still develop into one. I got a prescription, just in case. But the doc said just to keep an eye on him and the fever to see what it does. If it gets worse, then it probably is infected and to get the medicine. *fingers crossed*
switch842: (SPN: Gabriel Wings)
It is now also an ear infection. :-( The doctor did say it was minor, so I guess that's something. We ended up taking Martouf in cos his fever wasn't really coming down at all. So, we took him in and one ear has a little infection in it. Hubby is out getting his medicine, hopefully he won't be allergic to it.

So, yeah. That's that. :-(

Martouf is sick. :-( He's all congested and coughing and stuff. And he's got a bit of a fever. So far we seem to be keeping it under control. Lots of liquids and I went and picked up a humidifier and one of those plug-in things with the Vicks Vapo Rub tablets in it. He hasn't been sleeping well, so the poor guy is exhausted. But he's eating OK, more interested in a bottle than solid food, but he's keeping what he has eaten down, so I'm not too worried. Yet. Mommy's prerogative. LOL

I'm guessing he caught the cold my husband had last week. So, yeah. This is his first cold and I just hate seeing him all blechy and stuff. It's not fun. :-(

I'm entering Martouf in Gap's Casting Call contest cos everyone says he's the cutest baby ever. So, why not, right?

Well, as part of the contest they have a vote for Fan Favorite. So, I need you all to go here: http://www.gapcastingcall.com/GapCastingCall/EntryDetail.html?id=693429 and vote for my little guy. Spread the word, too, if you can!

Remember vote early and vote often. :-)

I just called the Social Security office as I have not yet received Gabe's card that we applied for back in March. The reason, apparently, that we haven't received it is that the paperwork was never sent in. Really? REALLY? Stupid government offices....

I'm finding my receipt calling the office tomorrow and if they tell me I have to go in again, I will on the condition that I do not have to wait in line. This is their fault, I'm not taking 2 hours out of my day to sit in their crappy office to submit forms I already did. Dumbasses...

He's getting so big!! )

We did also go see Iron Man 2 on Saturday. I loved it. I thought ScarJo was great, and RDJ is a sexy beast. :-)

It was a ROBOT HEAD! )

I need to write this all down somewhere to organize myself.

Back here cos no one else cares )

In other news....
Today went just fine. Work was good. Pretty much the same stuff I was doing before with some minor changes as everyone in the mortgage industry has gone batshit crazy. :-)

And new layout. It is now June. Season 3 of Leverage premieres in 19 days. So, we are Leverage-ified. :-)

GABRIEL JUST ROLLED OVER!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
switch842: (SPN: Dean Pudding)
So I think I can safely say this isn't a fluke:

GABRIEL IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It started last Friday night with a sudden 7 hour stretch. The next night and every night since it's been a solid eight, sometimes eight and a half hours. It's been so freaking awesome. I have had to get up a couple times to reswaddle him. But he's never really woken up and it's right back to sleep. So, yay!!

Also, the weaning has been going well. Now that we've found a formula he likes, anyway. The second day was a little rough as he was quite fussy after the first bottle of formula. But I wasn't sure if it was that specific formula or just the change in general. The next day, tried another sample we had and that went better. Still not great, but better than the first. Then hubby picked up some of the Gerber formula the other day and that has been awesome. He's been chugging that stuff down like it's breastmilk. Plus, really no spitting up with it. We actually did just clean out a monster poop. It was BAD. Blech. But expected.

I had a bridal shower to go to today so hubby was alone with Gabe for about 5 hours. The longest yet. But it went great and they survived. :-)

So, yeah. All is well in the Switch household. :-D
switch842: (JB: Laugh)
Had the little man's 2 month appointment today. He's up to 12 pounds and 25 inches!!! 97th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. So, tall and skinny. Not really surprising. ;-) He also had his first round of immunization shots. :-( He didn't do too bad. Cried for a little bit, but then it was just sort of over and done. He has been pretty fussy for the rest of the day. But so far, so good.

We were also given the OK to go ahead and start weaning. He's been taking a bottle for a couple weeks now, so I'm not too worried about it. Just hoping he's not too fussy about formula. Cos that crap is EXPENSIVE. Oy.

So cute!

Look at what I just ordered for my little man!

The Stargate and Supernatural onsies are from Cafe Press. I designed the SG one. Isn't the little Cas so adorable? I couldn't pass it up. :-D The Easter one is from Inktastic. It's a new site I found that looks like it operates pretty much like Cafe Press. They seem to have a better assortment of apparel, though. More colors/styles, etc. I may have to look more into that one... :-)
switch842: (Glee: Don't Stop)
...and went to the mall to buy new jeans. I've still been wearing my maternity clothes for the last three weeks and just finally had enough. I want real clothes that fit. So, the new jeans are two sizes bigger than my usual, but that's OK. They fit and I can wear my regular clothes again and that's the important thing. :-) I've lost a good portion of the weight I gained when pregnant but I still have another 15 or so pounds to go to get back to my pre-preggo weight. I still haven't been given the clear to start exercising by the doctor yet. That's OK, too. We have lots of stairs and I've lost all of what I have just walking around the house and up the stairs for diaper changes. :-) I'll get there. Eventually...
switch842: (SG: Daniel Headdesk)
So, I have lost my keys. My car key, my house key and my parent's house key. I feel like the biggest idiot right now.

Here's what happened:

Saturday hubby and I were getting ready to go to his sister's college graduation party. He's been having some issues with one of his tires having a constant slow leak, so he uses the air compressor he has before driving anywhere. Well, the compressor stopped working in his car, so he wanted to try it in mine. I tossed him my car keys, but it still didn't work. Here's where things get fuzzy. I am not 100% sure he gave my keys back to me. We have since torn apart his car, my car and the garage and they are nowhere to be found.

We did make a couple stops along the way and they may have fallen out at the first place I got out of the car, but we have not heard back from them on that. :-(

Luckily, I have a spare car key, so it's not that bad. But I just feel like the biggest fucking moron right now. How do you lose your keys like that? Ugh....

THEY'VE BEEN FOUND!!! They were wedged in hubby's car between the passenger seat and the center console. Phew!

And I do now actually look pregnant. I really haven't yet, but over the last week my stomach has just like exploded. I can no longer button my pants. So I stopped at this one maternity store to pick up a couple Bella Bands. They're these elastic bands that you can wear over the top of your pants and they just look like a tank top layered under whatever shirt you're wearing. It's pretty cool what they have nowadays. Oh! And the store has LONG pants!! Score! I was so afraid of not being able to find pants that would be long enough, but these looked like they would be good. Now I have a store to visit when I need pants! :-)
