Oo. Ouch. *limp*
Jul. 8th, 2010 02:37 pmSo, I've started actively trying to lose the last 20 pounds of baby weight that I have. I'm really tired of only having, like, 4 pairs of pants I can wear. 1 of which is sweats that are only house pants. I like my clothes. I want to fit in them again. I can't afford to buy a new wardrobe anyway. The only that's gonna happen is if I go on What Not To Wear. And that's not gonna happen. LOL
I have now exercised two days in a row. Thank goodness for free On Demand videos! I did one of Jillian Michaels' yesterday. KILLED me. Tried a different one today. It was still intense, but I wasn't quite as dead. My only concern is that all these workouts involve some high impact aerobics (running in place, jumping jacks, etc) and I'm worried that my shins are going to completely give out on me. I've wrapped them while doing the workouts, so *fingers crossed*....
I've also been watching my diet. There's not too much I can really do with regards to what I eat meal wise (picky eater syndrome), but I've been trying to pay more attention to serving size and things like that. I can also snack better. Fruit instead of cookies or ice cream, etc. Though I do have a batch of Alton Brown's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies baking. Hehe. Which I will allow myself one of a day, if I need something. Depravity never did anyone any good. It's all about moderation.
So, I may be making some posts to keep track of my progress. Feel free to skip them as I'm sure they'll be super boring. Like this one! ;-)

Date: 2010-07-08 11:44 pm (UTC)I'm guessing you're not nursing (I think I read somewhere G is on bottles) because you also have to be really careful with things like chocolate and caffienne--you know, the necessities. :P But with cookies, yes, moderation is the key, unless it's PMS week and it's eat a bag of Oreos or kill your husband. LOL Good luck. You may find just evening walks with hubs & the stroller will help, too.

Date: 2010-07-09 12:26 am (UTC)Nope, no longer nursing, so that's all good. I do take a walk with G outside every day. I think I've just sort of reached the plateau with what that will do for me right now.

Date: 2010-07-09 09:19 pm (UTC)Instead, I will allow you to be my inspiration, you and the couple of others on my flist who are also trying to lose a little weight. The hardest thing for me was giving up Coke, empty empty calories. I fell asleep for a couple of weeks but I'm better now. Probable.
So, good luck.
