I see how it goes....

So, this weekend I was all BLECH about the whole weight loss thing, so I kind of protested by not exercising. I did take the little guy on a couple walks, so I wasn't completely sedentary. I ate pretty much the same way I have been. Though I did break down and grab some Burger King when I was out running errands on Saturday. I did want to see if I could get one of those Twilight game pieces and win a new car (I AM NOT A TWILIGHT FAN!!). Anyway, I guess I didn't order the right size value meal cos I didn't get a game piece.

But anyway, the point is, I do all this and I am down 3 pounds. WTF?

Now, I know that muscle weighs more than fat and all that. But there's no way I was building muscle that fast or that much so that my weight wasn't changing. So, I don't know. I think I'll continue this walking thing for awhile (maybe doing some crunches) and see what happens....

Thanks, guys! I shall add the ingredients to tonight's grocery list.

I think I've found a work out I like. It's Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred Workout. I've tried others, but I keep coming back to that one. It totally kicks my ass, but in a really good way. If that makes sense. There's enough variety that you don't get bored. Just when one exercise is starting to feel a little stale, she switches it up and you move on. It's also only 20 minutes, so it's easy to squeeze in while the little guy is napping. If you're looking for something, I highly recommend checking it out. AT&T has it On Demand, not sure about other cable providers. But if they have anything by her, I would check it out. She also doesn't have that annoying cheerleader tone that some exercise hosts have. She does the typical "You can do it! Almost there!" speeches, but they're not eye-rolling like they can be. So, yeah. Check it out.

At least today, I don't. LOL Tried one of the yoga workouts on demand and man, it was just awful. It may be due to the fact that between every little circuit, she went back to this down dog -- plank -- cobra -- up dog thing. It was basically a gajillion push ups. And I don't do push ups. So I stopped that one early and tried one of the dance workouts. That was even worse. LOL So I went back to one of the Jillian Michaels workouts and started in on that. All was going well and then the little guy woke up and needed to eat. So, I worked out for about half an hour today, even though it wasn't a full workout of one type.

I also enlisted my mom to help keep me in line. I asked her to call me every afternoon to ask if I've worked out. Because I know this is something I could very easily just be like "I don't wanna" one day. So, hopefully that will help, too.

So, I've started actively trying to lose the last 20 pounds of baby weight that I have. I'm really tired of only having, like, 4 pairs of pants I can wear. 1 of which is sweats that are only house pants. I like my clothes. I want to fit in them again. I can't afford to buy a new wardrobe anyway. The only that's gonna happen is if I go on What Not To Wear. And that's not gonna happen. LOL

I have now exercised two days in a row. Thank goodness for free On Demand videos! I did one of Jillian Michaels' yesterday. KILLED me. Tried a different one today. It was still intense, but I wasn't quite as dead. My only concern is that all these workouts involve some high impact aerobics (running in place, jumping jacks, etc) and I'm worried that my shins are going to completely give out on me. I've wrapped them while doing the workouts, so *fingers crossed*....

I've also been watching my diet. There's not too much I can really do with regards to what I eat meal wise (picky eater syndrome), but I've been trying to pay more attention to serving size and things like that. I can also snack better. Fruit instead of cookies or ice cream, etc. Though I do have a batch of Alton Brown's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies baking. Hehe. Which I will allow myself one of a day, if I need something. Depravity never did anyone any good. It's all about moderation.

So, I may be making some posts to keep track of my progress. Feel free to skip them as I'm sure they'll be super boring. Like this one! ;-)
