Random Con Ramblings & LEVERAGE!
Aug. 15th, 2010 09:59 pmThe Chicago Con is in a couple weeks and to be honest, this whole con is looking kind of meh. First, Jason had to cancel. I got to see him a couple years ago, so I'm not too disappointed, though I was looking forward to his concert Friday night. Then, someone on GW mentioned that the tentative schedule had been posted, so I went to take a look to see what was going on. The dessert party - Dan Shea. That's it. Um, not so much. I mean, he's funny and all, but really? No Shanks? No Flanigan? No Hewlett? Let down.
I think this just really confirms that this is going to be my last full out convention. I'll probably still do a day pass if any friends come into town (aka
brihana25 or
whisper99). :-D But other than that, pretty sure this is it for me. Is it weird that I want to tell Michael good bye? Like at the photo ops. I mean, we've kind of bonded. He for sure recognizes me now (in a good way, I think....). So, yeah... Anyway...
But I'm holding out a very slim hope that perhaps Creation will get Colin to replace Jason. Probably not, but a girl can dream...
This was another one that gets a check in the YES column. :-) I loved the development we got with Parker this week. She's definitely growing and coming into her own.
I think this episode also determines for me that Eliot is definitely an older brother. How he was with Corey was totally giving me that vibe. Though my stupid slash goggles totally skewed the last scene. When Corey was all "So, you're leaving?" and getting all teary, my brain couldn't help filling in "But I love you!" Ugh... LOL
Next week's ep looks reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally interesting. It's finally The Before They Were Leverage Job. I can't wait to see everyone!!!

Date: 2010-08-16 01:17 pm (UTC)The supporting actors typically end up being my faves as they can chat with fans without being mobbed or molested. I have extremely fond memories of Peter Williams sitting on a sofa in the reception area, talking with us fans for hours. Michael or Amanda could never really do that. I hope you get some surprise good experiences like that.

Date: 2010-08-16 08:15 pm (UTC)I totally agree with you on the supporting actors thing. And Peter. Oh, Peter. I have such fond memories of being cuddled by Peter on the couch in the lobby of the Chicago Con. LOL It was one of those moments where after it's over you look back and are like "What the hell just happened? How did I end up there?" Kinda like being whipped with a belt on stage in front of everyone by Tony Amendola. WTF? But, yeah. I do have very fond memories of all my times there. It's just sad that the end of an era seems to have come. :-( And that I'll probably never get to meet Colin, now. He's like my absolute favorite and did something for me a couple years ago at a GateCon where my friends were and I just...really need to thank him for being awesome and amazing and going so above and beyond anything. But, yeah, that's not likely to happen now.
