This may possibly be TMI. Feel free to skip. I just need to rant.

So, I've had like gross, thick toenails for awhile now. I've tried every topical over the counter treatment and nothing works. So, I finally got fed up and went to see my doc today since one of the nails now has some weird black spots on it. Figured that wasn't a good thing. They were going to call in a prescription for the Lamisil antibiotic pill or whatever it is. It's three months of medication, but it should clear everything up. Well, our insurance won't cover the name brand OR generic. Seriously? WTF? Not covering the generic? You guys suck. I called Walgreen's to see if I could get the price to see how bad it would be without the coverage. The generic is $69.99 per month. I need three months of pills. Awesome. However, the slightly good news is that Walgreen's has a Prescription Club thing. It's a $20 one time fee and then prescriptions are only $10. So, it's probably still doable. But, I stand at Insurance Companies Suck.

Oh they definately suck! But I blame the drug companies first and foremost. It's a racket the whole deal. And what really gets me is that when a patent expires they will reapply for another one by changing one little molecule of a compound and give it some other little letter outside the name of the medicine and sell it for double over the price again!

Don't get me started, it's one of my pet peeves. And for someone like me, I HAVE to be on medication. Like a diabetic I have to have this medicine to function. Off the street, the cost is a staggering $525 a month! Thank God my insurance covers it, otherwise I don't know what I would do.

On the topic at hand though, I have heard good things about Lamisil, so it should get it knocked out. And that is good that Walgreens can offer you that option.

The people that NEED medication to live always seem to be the ones that get stuck with it. It's just awful. But, yeah, the drug companies are a HUGE part of this.

And it does sound like we can make it work, at least, with Walgreen's. So, that's something at least.
