Smart Phones

I am now officially in the market for a smart phone. I have it narrowed down to 5. Which, I know. LOL I've read reviews and talked to the guy in the store about the various pros & cons of each, but I was wondering if any of you folks have any experience with any of the following:
  • LG Ally
  • Droid 2
  • LG Revolution
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • Droid Charge (Samsung)

    Thanks! :-)

My hubby has the HTC Thunderbolt and he loves it. It's a little bigger than I'd like to have, but it's a great phone. It's easy to use, and I've played a few games on it.

    Great to hear. :-)

I have a Droid 2 Global and I love it. It's fairly use friendly. The only down side is I didn't get the extended battery, and the charge doesn't last nearly as long as I'd like. If you use it a lot you'd have to charge it twice a day, like I do sometimes. So, in short you might want to get the extended battery. lol

Out of curiosity, what carrier do you use?

Hey, do you use the battery manager setting? I just discovered it (lol) and it has helped a lot. I have my phone set to the maximum battery saver setting and it's done a good job at doing that.

    I have Verizon.

The guy did mention the 4G phones do have some battery issues. I mean, right now, with my current phone I charge it like once a week. LOL So, that's definitely going to take some getting used to.

No matter what, with a smartphone, you're pretty much going to have to charge every day (if not more!). But it's not hard to get into the habit of plugging it in every night before bed. I was the same. I went from a phone that I charge every week to a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S, so not on your list there). I thought it was going to be a pain, but it's not much of an issue at all.

I have a Droid 2 Global on Verizon. I love it. If you've never used an Android phone, there is a little learning curve but it only takes a few days and it starts to feel very intuitive.

Like [livejournal.com profile] eviljr I charge my phone twice a day but I'm a very heavy user since it's my only internet connection. (Hence the comment fails of the other day ;))

Cool. I'm fairly good at picking up electronics and how to use them quickly. I've never had a smart phone of any kind, so no matter what I get will be a learning curve.

The Thunderbolt is the bigger cousin version of my Droid Incredible. My college roommate has the Thunderbolt & loves it. I do like my Incredible as well.

I have the original Motorola Droid, and I like it. You will have to charge every night. Kind of sucks-I went from charging once every 5 days to charging every night. But you get used to it.

That's what I'm hearing. But the phone comes to the bedroom every night, so it shouldn't be too hard to remember to plug it in.
