switch842: (Glee: Blaine INU)

Can someone explain Cough Syrup to me? Like, seriously. I must be missing something. Like, yes, Darren sounds great on it, but I'm not getting the "lasdkjhfsdlkjhngsdlkjg" reaction everyone else is. Maybe it's cos I've never heard the song before today, I don't know.

So, help?

It really depends on which side of the crazed Klainers you want to take the interpretation of the song from. The song itself is about navigating your way through life, taking chances and how you can either run away from it or take a temporary fix like "cough syrup". Considering the song comes at the beginning of the ep, and there's supposed to be a big event at the beginning, it likely means Blaine/Kurt and the reason Blaine is singing the song (which could either have to do with Kurt going off to NYADA or Kurt coming in to Blaine life) will be set into a montage with something to do with Karofsky. Possibly the suicide angle.

So fandom is torn: There's the set pissed off because how dare Karofsky intrude on something Blaine is singing, and there's the set pissed off because Blaine isn't singing a love song to Kurt.

Ah, okay. I think I get it. Once again, all we have is the song to go with and no context and people are freaking out for no reason. Just another Friday in Glee fandom... ;-)

Pretty much. Though it feels worse than usual to me. When you add in the Karofsky rumblings from this ep, and the lack of Klaine last ep, fandom just freaks the fuck out.

Hence I ran back to LJ. It's far more calm here.

Glee is probably the craziest fandom I've ever been involved in. It's nuts.
