So, as we prepare for season 6 (finally!!), there's still something leftover from season 4/5 that I'm super confused about.

At the end of Lucifer Rising, Ruby tells Sam that he didn't need the demon blood to do what he did. He had the power within him the whole time. OK, great. Awesome. So, then why in season 5 is Sam still all loopy for the blood? And why in My Bloody Valentine and (even more so) Swan Song, does it take Sammy gulping down more blood to be able to do his demon mind jobby thing?

Does Sam still "need" that feather to get over his mental block even though he knows he doesn't? And if he knows that the blood is just a placebo, why does it still work?

I just don't get it. Can someone explain it to me?

There is a discussion thread over on Wayward Son (which is a new message board that y'all should join) about Sam's powers and what they mean, how did they develop, etc.

It seems that Sam's main "power" is telekinesis. We've seen him move objects and people. If we go with the theory that YED didn't give the special kids powers, just enhanced what they have, could we then say that Sam's exorcising abilities are a really highly advanced form on telekinesis?

Think about it - the demon does have an actual physical presence inside the host. So, Sam is using a concentrated form of telekinesis to remove it.

I have no idea what this means other than trying to make sense out of some really freaky thing that Sam can do. *shrugs*

Season 3, No Rest For The Wicked. As Dean is getting closer to being dragged to hell, he's able to start seeing through the "veil" and can see the demons inside people. Well, near the beginning of the episode, he looks up at Sam and Sam's face goes all freaky. Why would it do that unless there was some kind of demon-y thing to make Dean see that? And yes, there was the demon blood from when he was a baby. But that was a teeny-tiny drop 25 years ago. I would think there needs to be something more there for this to happen.

Thoughts? Yes? No?

That I am Bi-Wincestuous! LOL

This came about from a discussion with friends about how people feel the need to declare themselves (to the actors) that they are a "Sam girl" or a "Dean girl." Which, I've never really understood. Cos, really, when you say that to their faces at least, you're pretty much insulting the other one.

So, anyway, I declared that I enjoyed both boys equally and we determined that to be Bi-Wincestous. Because, really, why should I have to choose? ;-) Hehe.
