This was my entry into Creation's Michael Intro Video contest thing. Whipped together in about a day cos I like to torture myself. I was one of the runners-up so not the big winner. It did get played though, so that was cool. And Gary had some lovely words to say about my work so that was very nice to hear. :-)

Okay, how did that not win? Seriously.

I just loved your clip choices in this. I liked that a lot of them aren't the same over-used ones that you see in every other Daniel vid, which is always a good thing. I liked the use of clip repetition, too. It really worked with the song. You know I'm not a fan of "talky face" in vids, but you know what? It didn't bother me here. This vid just made me feel really happy. Loved the song, too. I must check out more of Collective Soul's stuff.

This song is off their album Youth. The whole album is fantastic. I kinda fell off them for awhile, but this disc is really, really good.

ETA: I just saw the maker of the winning vid posted it over on the stargate vids comm. I just don't get it....

I've just downloaded 3 discs of their "A Brief History Of Modern Rock" so that'll give me something to listen to in the car over the weekend.

Heh, despite all the assurances from Brian at Creation (I still never got my prize) I don't know of a single person who saw Flagpole Sitta at the NJ Con, nor any other con after it, so I have my doubts about whether it really won anything. I know it's a good vid because I got asked to submit it for play at a really good vidding convention (Bascon). *shrug* I think the guys at Creation do tend to go for names they know when it comes to what they play before the Q&A's, and don't necessarily always have a grasp of the finer points of good technical vidding (or you would have won for sure). But at least you're on their radar, so YAY for that.

I'm also wondering if the fact that I won at Vancouver may have played a little part in it. Like, they didn't want to give it to the same person twice? *shrug* Who knows?

Well since I am heading off for DC at BFE tomorrow AM, you will probably have more luck remembering to bug Dana about getting a copy. If I get around to posting anything on GW, or PMing her than maybe I'll remember to bug her about it.

yaaaaa, this is an awesome Daniel/Michael video.

The repeated clips works just great, and IMO they add to the fun.

I like that you covered pretty much everything in this video.

Just for the record, I saw the winning video, yours I find way better.

I do have a question, since you have been at the Chicago Con, and I read a bit further down what littleheaven70 wrote about vids not being played aso.. do you know which videos have been played on Sunday for Ben? We, a friend and myself, sent in a video for the Contest also. But not for Michael, for Ben.
We have been told it wasn`t played, but then something happened that makes me think it was.
So I`d love to find out the titles of the vids played for Ben, since it seems they played more than one for him also.

The title of our video is "Let`s get loud" by Jennifer Lopez. And it is a SG-1/Farscape Crossover.

There was a bit of a confusion, because 1st they said they can not play it because of the FS clips *???*, next they said they could, next we had been told by a friend it wasn`t played, next I get mail from Creation. So, to say I`m confused because of this doesn`t even begin to cover.
