My family came over today to bake Christmas cookies. It was just going to be my mom, but my brother came home early so he and my dad came, too. It was good times. Did the requisite sugar cookies and then peanut butter blossoms (peanut butter cookies with Hershey's Kisses. YUM!). We now have much sugar in the house that I don't really need but love anyway. :-)

And it looks like I may not be doing the Chicago SG con this/next year (2011). Hubby and his siblings are looking to organize a family trip with their dad for his Christmas present and with where their looking at going the weekend of the con is the best weekend to go. Sad, but I think I'm OK with it. I know it's the first year Judge was going to be back and I'll be sad to miss is craziness. And The Hewlett. But the SG cons were kind of going down hill in general, so I don't know.... And who knows, the trip may end up being another weekend. I guess we shall just wait and see.

Time to eat a cookie.... :-D

Got back from my mom's house a little bit ago. I now have lotsa cookies! There are more waiting to be consumed on Christmas Day. I should have taken some pictures cos they turned out so cute!! :-D

Things did get off to a bit of a rough start, though. In a funny way. I got over there early as my mom was substitute teaching this morning and the sugar cookie dough has to sit in the refrigerator for about an hour before using. So, she left everything out, I got there made the dough and then she would be home. So, I start doing that. But, um, I mistook the salt container for the sugar container. So, I put in a cup and a half of salt. *facepalm* Oops. Ruined a whole batch of dough. Luckily, there were enough ingredients to make another batch and I got it right that time. :-)

So, we have sugar cookies, peanut butter Kiss cookies, gingerbread cookies and snowflake spice cookies. Yummy! I'm also going to make dessert for Christmas dinner. I'm going to attempt to make a Bouche De Noel. It's that cake that looks like a log. Sponge cake with a custard-like filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. Usually also dusted with powdered sugar to look like snow. Yum! And I'm also going to try to make these peanut butter Rice Krispie Treat balls dipped in chocolate. It's gonna be a sweet Christmas. Haha! ;-)
