But I am seriously, like, in complete awe that I am now "friends" with riverfox. I've admired your fics for so long, that it sometimes boggles my mind that, like, we talk and comment and have "conversations." And now I'm going to get to meet you in a month!!

Does anyone else ever have these thoughts? Like, through LJ or Gateworld or some other fan-site you become friends with people you admire? Or am I the only freak? LOL :-D

It's from Dell, actually. They have this thing called SkinIt where you can pick from pre-made ones they have or upload your own picture. It's pretty cool.

When I first got into writing fan fic etc I came across stories by cincoflex. I tentatively emailed and IMed with her, telling her how much I enjoyed her fics. We got to talking, and we've been very good friends for about 4 years now. I haven't met her, as I live on the East Coast and she lives on the West, but I totally know where you are coming from. You're not the only freak. ;)

I do know what you mean. I think with both riverfox and with sidlj I got to talking and chatting with them first, then later it dawned on me, "Omigawd, you're the one who wrote that awesome fic I loved and sent me to a puddle of goo and I pimped all over the place!"

Sometimes we forget that we're all just fans, some of us just express it through stories, videos, graphics, etc. ;-)

I will be meeting riverfox at the Vancouver Con. Her friend (execknowitall by happenstance) has purchased my Preferred Weekend Pass that I had for sale as a birthday present. Isn't that sweet?? :-)

Don't know why I haven't friended your LJ before as you are friends with, like, all of my flist, but in answer to your question, I've met several of my on-line friends.

As or_mabinogi noted, I met him last August. I met trikakeep in Vegas last April and we had a fine time drinking $1 margaritas. (No, Mabi, there are still no pictures.) I met riverfox for the first time last summer when I realized, like, *face/palm* "How could I have read her stuff for two years and NOT know she lives only 20 minutes away!"

spacemonkeyphd2 is flying over from the UK to meet up with me in Seattle a couple days prior to the con, and duck_wrangler is meeting us in BC on Thursday. I'm terribly obsessed with meeting as many people on my flist as I can.

So, I guess you're not alone. Heh.

First off.....LOVE the lappy Kerri!!...

Yes I can understand your excitement.....I am so grateful for the internet enabling me to meet up with the Senior Hussies last year in Vancouver.....real solid friendships have come out of that and there are so many of them whose artistic talents I totally admire.....I'm Seshat's biggest fangirl and Sue is my kindred "slash spirit"....(and she sends me lovely art too!...)...On another level in another on-line life it's enabled me to see bands I'd never have dreamed of seeing 10 years ago and led me to meet people like Tom McRae (who is a hero of mine because of his amazing songwriting talent) and the guys from Keane....

I'm so glad you're going to meet riverfox.... I've also been a great admirer of her work for ages....she's the only writer who can make me love another character as much as my OTP Jack and Daniel....her Jason is just gorgeous and utterly sexy and I'm going to have to restrain myself a lot when I come face to face with Steve Bacic in Vancouver next month!....

I can't wait to meet up with you....I think it's going to be a very fun filled Con!....

The internet can really be an amazing place. I've made so many friends through LJ and GW. And I'm really so excited to meet everyone in Vancouver. It's really one of the main reasons I decided to go. It's gonna be such a blast!!
