So, it's been awhile since I've posted here. Sorry about that...

Not much going on. Martouf seems to finally be getting his last molars in. Sooooooo drooly and he was kind of swollen and been really fussy the last couple days. Poor guy. :-(

Ballet starts back on Friday. Yay. I've been such a slacker while class has been on hiatus. I feel like a schlub.

GLEE STARTS NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what other shows are on. LOL That "The New Girl" with Zooey Deschanel looks fun. I like her. And it's on after Glee! So, that's convenient.

So, what else is there? Psych's not back til October. I think I might give The Playboy Club a try, too, cos Sean Maher. Yum. Any suggestions?

Oh! I've been reading "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." It's awesome. Really. Check it out if you haven't.

First off, I have this barbecue thing this coming Saturday and it's semi-potluck. Host is providing meats, we provide side dishes and desserts. I decided to bring a dessert. So, I was looking through the various recipe books I have and I cannot decide what to make, so I shall leave it to you, my lovely flist.

Also, I found out yesterday that I apparently have a prejudice against books about authors. Well, not necessarily about authors, but books where the protagonist is an author. We had some time to kill between dinner & the movie yesterday, so we headed over to Barnes & Noble to browse for a bit. I headed over to the mystery section (my preferred genre of novel) and it seemed like every other book I picked up was "Mystery writer Sue Smith is on vacation when random mysterious thing happens. Can she solve the crime before it's too late?". And it was annoying me. I don't know why. Maybe because it seems so egotistical/narcissistic? The author putting themselves in their own book, or something? I dunno. But, when I read mystery novels, I want detectives and policemen and all that good stuff. Not some dumb writer. Maybe it's because in books like that the people who should actually be investigating the crime are dumbed downed/trivialized so the writer can be the hero. And I hate when that happens. So, I ended up getting my first ever Sci Fi novel! I know, right? For the scifi geek I am, I don't read much of it. It's called The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. It sounded interesting. More like an action/adventure story that happens to have some scifi elements to it, than full on scifi. I hope it's good. It's pretty long...

So, I'm watching Hostage on USA. Ya know, that Bruce Willis movie from a few years back. Well, I gotta tell ya, the book is really about a gajillion times better. I mean, I suppose I could be biased since Robert Crais is my favorite author ever. He's really awesome. I've met him a couple times, too, at book signings. He's very nice and cool and awesome. But I think I've said that. Anyway, this book Hostage, is actually slightly off from his normal writing. He has this "series" about a private detective named Elvis Cole and his partner Joe Pike. Hostage is an independent book and he has one other called Demolition Angel that has apparently been in development for awhile, as well. Sadly, he will never sell Elvis and Joe. Which is kind of a pity because Michael Shanks would be perfect for Joe. He's described as being tall and lean, brown hair and piercing blue eyes. Sound like anyone else? LOL Anyway, if you like the movie at all, check out the book. You won't be disappointed. :-)

PS - Packing for moving is a PITA.
