First, I rambled at her about this one outfit Kurt was wearing gave me certain... thoughts. And how I wanted to write them, but doing so would essentially strip Kurt of all his... Kurt-ness. She gave me an idea of how to get around that and now I might be writing something for the Klaine Big Bang next year. Oy.

Then, I was talking at her about Professor!Eliot A and how he's an archaeology prof and she went "Oo! Crossover!" I had thought the same thing, but it would have to involve the Leverage team now with Daniel from like 20 years ago at University of Chicago, and, well, that's just not possible. But, wait! It is! "Time travel!" Damn it....... And now begins the pondering of a mass Leverage/Stargate crossover with Eliot and Daniel as colleagues. Oy.

Thanks, Bri! :-P

Got some highlights done today. My hair looks soooooooo much better. It was starting to get really drab and flat and dull. And I need to make sure it looks FABULOUS when I go to Vegas next month! Woohoo!! ;-) My salon was having a sale on color processing this week, so I decided to go get some highlights put back in. I really do look best with blonde-type hair color. :-)

Oh! And on my way down, I think I figured out my Show vs. Tell problem. I'm going to start how I've been planning to start: Action starts, jump cut to the next day and the telling. But! Instead of just telling telling, it's going to be a flashback! So, he'll start telling the story and then *Wayne's World Flashback* THE ACTION! I think it'll work out well, so I'm not repeating the action with then the telling, but it still gets done what I need to get done. So, yay! That made me happy.

I'm having issues finding a cardigan or something. I have this t-shirt that I want to wear in Vegas, at least, but it's a little, um, clingy in places. So, I need something to help kinda cover that up. It's this tee in the heather gray. My go to color would be navy blue, but I have a lot of navy blue clothes, so I'm open to suggestions. I was thinking maybe red or purple? But I haven't been able to find anything in the stores. All the spring colors are really bright and sherbet-y. Any ideas?

One of the cardinal rules of writing is that you show your audience what is happening, you don't just tell them what happened.

Well, I have a bit of a conundrum. The current story I'm working on, there's a scene where one of the characters tells someone else what just happened. So, if I have that but right before it show everyone what just happened then it's all repetitive and boring and I don't want that. I really, really need the scene with the telling. It has the potential to be a very cool character beat and be all emotional and let us into his head a bit more.

My initial thought is to have the narration up to the beginning of what's going to happen, then jump cut to the telling part the next day. It's not some huge action sequence that I'm skipping. So, it's not like it's fade to black and suddenly the guy has a cast on his arm or something. I mean, it is fairly important in that what happens signals a fairly significant change in a relationship.

Ugh!! I don't know. This is so confusing and frustrating. So, oh f-list of awesome, what advice have you?

Have you ever written the end of a story first? Cos I have this one percolating and it's inspired by this song. But the song is really the end of the story. And I almost feel like I need/want to write that first. Then I can figure out how to get there.

Does that make any sense? Or is it the most bass-ackwards thing I've ever said?

So I signed up for the JD slash ficathon thing. Got my prompt and pretty quickly had an idea of the story I wanted to write. So, I started writing and soon the rest of the story developed in my mind and I had I'd say 90-95% of it all mapped out. So, why can't I write it? I'm getting close to the end and the real "slashy" part of it. Am I just that out of practice that I don't know how to write smut anymore? That's kind of depressing, really. Grr. And it's due next week! I will get it done, though. I WILL. I just need to make myself write it. *sigh*
