So, um, I'm not gonna finish Buffy/Angel. I have two more discs left in the current seasons I'm on. I'll watch those and then, that's it. It's just not interesting to me. Hot and lovely as James is, I can't sit through all the crap and wait for him to show up any more. :-( So, oh well. I gave it a shot. Did the best I could. But it's just not working for me.

On the plus side, this will then free up my time for Supernatural once all the torrents finish. :-)

So, half-way through season 5 of Buffy and Season 2 of Angel.

Still want to slap Buffy most of the time. Glad to see there's some sort of plausible explanation for Dawn's existence beyond "We're ignoring our own canon." James Marsters is really the only reason I'm still watching the show at this point. This whole in-love-with-Buffy thing is intriguing. And now he's going to have a Buffy robot? WTF?? Though Spike in "regular" street clothes. Pretty hot. ;-)

Angel season 2 is WAY better than season 1. I'm actually all "OMG! What's gonna happen?!?!" at these episodes. Darla and Drusilla = AWESOME! And my pal Tony as a demon. Very cool. I was watching that ep, and was all "I know that voice. How do I know that voice?" Head over to imdb, and, yup! It's Tony! :-) That was fun.

And, yeah. That's all for now....
switch842: (BtVS: Angel/Spike)
I'm about half way through both, so I thought I'd do my usual posting about it...

Buffy seems to be getting slightly better. Of course, that could just be my reaction to Spike now being a main character. LOL But that whole Buffy/Parker thing dragged on for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Dear God! Yes, he slept with you and then never wants to talk to you again. Get over it. It happens. You're in COLLEGE. Please act like it. Ugh. Still not sure how I feel about Riley. He's interesting. The whole Initiative thing is kind of weird. Spike's chip thing is certainly an interesting development.

Xander's fight with Harmony was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. HYSTERICAL. So was the Buffy/Spike marriage thing. Heh.

Hush was an interesting episode. Though I'm not sure I completely buy THE ENTIRE TOWN shutting down cos no one can talk. Not being able to talk really isn't that big of a deal. There are plenty of businesses that could certainly remain open. And how does not being able to talk lead to one crashing their car into a fire hydrant. And why would everyone just be wandering aimlessly around the town? It's like they wanted to make it like some sort of apocalyptic event and, um, yeah. It's not. It's a slight inconvenience, sure. But definitely not a world ending event.

Angel. I do like it more than Buffy, but still not yet in OMG!AWESOME way.

They did not just fucking kill Doyle. OMG. Sorry, watching as I type. Doyle was awesome! BRING HIM BACK!! OK, he's still in the credits for the next episode, so I'm taking that as a good sign. Dude! Wesley!!! Awesome.... He's trying so hard and failing so miserably. It's awesome.

OK, so. First thing about Angel, is that OMG, the ADA from Law & Order is in it! Hehe. I must admit, though, the single frame flashy cut things are getting kind of annoying. I get the purpose, but it just makes my eyes jump.

Dammit. Doyle is dead. That's sucky. But I suppose Wesley helps make up for that. Anyone know why Doyle left/was written off? Just story lines?

Anywho, yeah. Liking Angel more. Hope it stays that way.

What exactly is the mythos surrounding the vampires in the Buffy universe? From what I've seen so far of the series, there seems to be mention that there's actually a demon that possesses a person when they get turned? Is that right? If so, do we learn more about how that "works"? Like, is it a Goa'uld type thing where they become trapped in their own body? Or do they die and then the demon inhabits the corpse? I'm just a little confused as to how it all works...

Had my first possible Buffy vid idea. But since I don't have the DVDs, I won't be making it. So, I thought I would put it out here if anyone wants it. It's to a (surprise!) Breaking Benjamin song called "You Fight Me." It would be a very angsty Buffy/Angel thing. Lyrics and link to a youtube "vid" are behind the cut.

This is how it's gonna end )

:-D

There's proof! )

So, yeah, season 4 started. So far, OK. I swear Willow gets prettier every season, though. I'm diggin' the new hair. And James Marsters is still the sexiest thing alive. There will be some new icons forthcoming. One word - shirtless. :-D

Season 3

Just finished Buffy Season 3. And that's pretty much all I can say about it. I'm still puzzled and slightly frustrated over the fact that I can't get into the show like I thought I would. But, honestly. I just really don't care about Buffy. She is seriously the Mary Sue to end all Mary Sues. I mean, really who says shit like "I'm talking about my lover dying." No one talks like that. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at all that. Whatever. I don't know. We'll see what happens with next season and Angel. I have a feeling I might like Angel a little more...
switch842: (BtVS: Spike B&W)
"Occasionally I'm callous and strange."

Hehe. Thanks, Willow. So am I. :-)

ETA: And we have Wesley! He's basically a mini-Giles, isn't he? LOL
switch842: (BtVS: Spike B&W)
I'm now on season 3 of Buffy. And I've been trying to figure out where I know Scott, Buffy's new love interest from. It's creepy Ethan from QAF. Eww!!! At least, he doesn't seem as greasy this time... LOL

ETA: I'm gonna blog as I watch this disc. Cos I can. )

I finished Buffy season two the other day. I’ve been holding off on writing anything though because I was trying to figure out what it is that’s sort of bugging me about the show. And not in a bad way. More just because I totally expected by this point to be totally sucked in to the show and OMG-obesessed with everything. And I’m not. I’m still kind of meh about everything. I have come to two possible conclusions – 1) Since I know most general things that have happened in the show, I’m not worried about anything. Like, Angel just got sucked into a vortex to hell. But I don’t really care cos I know he’ll be back. Hell, he gets his own show in a couple seasons. And 2) I don’t care about Buffy. I’m not 100% sure why yet, but I don’t care about her. I’m more interested in everyone else on the show. Giles and Jenny. Xander and Cordelia. Willow and Oz. Spike and Drusilla. Even just Angel by himself. Buffy just doesn’t interest me. Maybe it’s because I’m so far removed from high school and she still seems very immature in some ways. Which, she’s 17 you can’t expect her to act like she’s 30. But there’s still something there that bugs me. Maybe it’s because I’ve never been a big fan of Sarah’s. She’s just never grabbed my attention as an actress. I don’t know. But it’s weird. I think that if I were watching as/when the show was originally airing, I probably would have stopped by now. But y’all say season 3 is awesome, so I’m still holding out hope.

Ok, so, now specifically Becoming. It was interesting enough. I was slightly disappointed that we didn’t get to see Spike’s origin story. Though, I suppose that’s because Angel wasn’t directly involved. Do we ever learn more about that? Since we know how Angel and Dru got to be vamps. Seems only fair we learn more about Spike. When that demon guy introduced himself as Whistler, I immediately thought of Blade. Any correlation? Or just coincidence? And, like I alluded to above, I was more worried about Willow in this episode than Buffy. Though, I am slightly ticked off at her mom. I mean, hello. You saw a vampire get disintegrated right in front of you, you have another one sitting in your living room (and that scene with Spike and Joyce was completely made of win) and you still don’t believe your daughter. Instead, you kick her out of the house. Good job, mom.

So, season 3 should be coming tomorrow. We’ll see what happens with that…
switch842: (BtVS: Spike B&W)
So, almost done with Season 2. I think there's two episodes left (Becoming?? The last ep was Go Fish). I have to say that so far season 2 has definitely been better than season 1. Still not OMG WOW! or anything. But a definite improvement.

~Xander/Cordelia is completely made of awesome.
~Evil!Angel is kind of hot (and OMG! I just got my first vid idea. Seriously, as I was typing that. Breaking Benjamin has a song called Evil Angel. Hmm... May have to ponder....)
~Dammit, Jenny!! I liked her. She was cool and I wanted her to get back together with Giles. Cos they were so adorable together. Sucky Angel.
~Yeah. Still lovin' the Spike. *sigh* He's just so pretty.
~I did actually skip an episode on this disc - Killed by Death. The one with Buffy in the hospital. It just didn't really strike me. So, I skipped it. Is there any specific reason I should watch it?
~LOVED I Only Have Eyes For You. Very interesting story and loved the twist at the end of Buffy taking on the guy and Angel being the girl. And Christopher Goram!! A friend of mine had this HUGE crush on him from that other TV show he was on just a few years back. With Neal MacDonough. That show. LOL

Um, I think that's all for now. :-)
switch842: (BtVS: Spike)
Look!! I has a Buffy icon now! :-)

Just finished disc 2 of season 2. I think Halloween might be my favorite ep, so far. And I liked Lie to Me, too. But that might just be cos I have a soft spot for Jason Behr (Roswell, anyone?). But why did he have to be the bad guy? Dammit. And, go Giles! He's a bit of a bad-ass. And we had more Spike! He's always delicious. :-D I can see the show is starting to hit its stride.
switch842: (DW Donna Fangirl)
I finished Season 1 the other day and have the first disc of season 2. So far, it's not bad. There's been no fangirl squeeing moments of "OMG!! I must find all the Buffy communities on LJ that I can!!" yet. I definitely like it. It's just not at the obsessive stage yet. And some specifics:

1) Does no one know what a light switch is? Seriously, the lights are never on ANYWHERE.

2) Giles is the most adorable thing ever. He's so cute when he's all bumbling over how to ask out Miss Calendar on a date. So cute.

3) Angel is hot. But that's pretty much a given. :-)

I think that's all for now. More thoughts as they come....

ETA: And we have Spike! Yes!!! :-P
