The Unwarbled Tour
Jun. 9th, 2011 03:15 pmExpanding on my tumblr post from earlier...
Here's what I said:
The more I think about this, the more I want this to happen. I just have no idea where to even start trying to organize anything like this.
But, seriously. This could be so successful. They have a TON of fans. The Warblers really are like rock stars now. There are plenty of decent sized clubs out there that aren't huge and that wouldn't have super expensive ticket prices. And after seeing the little mini-Warblers concert that happens in the middle of the Glee Live tour and the fans response to them, it's amazing. I'm sure a large part of that was for Darren, but the other boys definitely have plenty of fans in their own right. I mean, there was practically an uproar when we all found out Dominic wasn't going to be on the tour.
I just... I WANT THIS. I want to do this. I want to help these boys because they are soooooo amazing and deserve all the success they can get.
If you like this idea and you have a tumblr, please go here and reblog and like the post. Let's get the word out!
Here's what I said:
All The Warblers need to get together and go on tour where they do their own music. Luke & Jon & Matt & Brock & Riker & Curt & Titus & everyone doing what they love. Wouldn’t that be awesome? We can call it The Unwarbled Tour. How can we make that happen?
The more I think about this, the more I want this to happen. I just have no idea where to even start trying to organize anything like this.

Music Meme!
Mar. 4th, 2011 10:34 pmHere are the rules: Comment with "MUSIC ME" and I give you a letter between A-Z (obviously) and you go and post 5 favorite songs/music videos that start with that letter. Or...you can just enjoy the music.
a_phoenixdragon gave me the letter L. Behind the cut are the songs I have selected. Not dial-up friendly. Lots of youtube embeds. :-)

Am I sexist?
Dec. 7th, 2010 01:47 pmStory time....
Hubby and I have very different musical tastes. He mostly listens to the local Top 40 Pop type station (The Mix) and similar stations. I listen to the rock/alternative station (Q101). As you can imagine, when we are in the car, there is a lot of station flipping going on. He noticed a trend a while back that pretty much whenever there was a female singer on, I would change the station, so one day he asked what I had against female singers. I thought about it for a moment cos I didn't think I had anything against female singers. After a little consideration, I came to the point that it wasn't that the singers were necessarily female, just that females are most likely to make the sort of bubble gum electro-pop that I basically despise. Hubby accepted this and we moved on.
Fast forward a few weeks and here come Glee. Specifically, here come The Warblers with their cover of Teenage Dream. Now, Katy Perry is basically in my Top 5 of "Oh, dear God, please go away and stop existing" musical artists. However, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH of Darren and The Warblers and their cover of this song.
For some reason, I am greatly disturbed by this. Am I sexist? Do I just dislike all female singers? A friend asked me who my favorite female singer was, and I pretty much couldn't answer.
I am so confused by this for most likely no reason at all and I should just stop thinking and enjoy whatever music I enjoy. But this is disturbing me....

Step 1: Put your iTunes on equivalent or random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 40 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Bold or Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING.
I will give clues if you ask for them.

SKILLET is on the Rock countdown on Fuse?!?! You go guys!! I used to go to the church these guys are from in Kenosha when I was in college. Well, they're not from the church, but the lead singer's dad was the preacher; their drummer was the house drummer for the worship band. Awesome guys. Totally. Rock on! :-)
Come meet my schizophrenic music taste
Aug. 31st, 2009 06:05 pmNew music from Three Days Grace and Michael Buble!! :-) Embedded youtube behind the cut. 3DG is just a 30 second snippet, but damn it ROCKS! And new Michael Buble!!
He's got one of the most amazing voices ever. And I've always loved the big band type of music. I love full orchestrations like that. Nice full music, ya know? If his concert tickets weren't so freaking ridiculously expensive I'd be at every show. Hmmm... Perhaps a Christmas present this year if he's touring anytime soon? :-)

Guilty feet have got no rhythm...
Feb. 12th, 2009 07:50 amYes, that is from "Careless Whispers." Why am I quoting it, you ask? Because I heard it on the radio this morning. As covered by Seether. Yes. Seether has covered Careless Whispers by Wham!. WTF? I was in the shower and I have the radio on and I can't quite make out the song that's playing, just little snippets here and there and then I hear "Empty Guilty feet have got no rhythm." I was all o_O? Did I just hear what I thought I heard? Yup. I sure did. Interesting...
I also managed to have a dream about Misha last night. I watched his Nip/Tuck (OMG. HILARIOUS. And holy crap is he flexible. I'm not that flexible. And I should be!), so he was on the brain before bed. So, we were at some mansion on the beach on the east coast. Similar to The Breakers, but not The Breakers. And we weren't there together. I was actually there with my husband and Misha happened to be there, too. Anyway, the two of us are standing out on the beach tasting these lobster crab cakes with scallops that I had apparently made. I hate seafood. So, this is the most random thing ever. He bites into one and there's this huge chunk of almost completely raw scallop. Eww. He spits it out and we start laughing, cos it was all just disgusting. Blech. Then somehow, we heard about some big mystery that had happened at the mansion a long time ago and we decide to investigate to see what we can find out. And since we're not really supposed to be doing what we're doing, there's a lot of ducking into closets to hide from the staff and giggling and hand holding while running. Nothing ever happened, but it was just a very fun dream. Lots of laughing and some flirting. It was good times. No idea where my husband was during the whole thing. Oh, well. :-)

Is it possible...
Jan. 6th, 2009 06:19 pm...to hate a particular genre of music and like a certain artist of said genre?
Confusing, right?
Here's what I'm talking about. Those of you that know me better than others know that I hate (despise would actually NOT be too strong of a word to use) country music. Nails on a freaking chalk board, basically. However, see that guy in my icon? The lovely Christian Kane. Been a fan of his acting for awhile, thought I'd do some digging into his musical side. It's country. *sigh* But I think I like it? Maybe? I don't know. For some reason, this has me all
. Cos I don't want to like it. Cos it's country. And country sucks. *Sigh* What the fuck am I supposed to do with this?!?!

Apr. 26th, 2008 08:55 pmSince we were talking about 30 Seconds to Mars the other day and she was shocked (shocked!! I say!!) that Jared Leto is in a band, here is them doing an acoustic version of their song "The Kill." Cos, like, he can really sing. And it's an awesome song. :-) Which y'all will see even more of it's awesomeness in a couple days. :-D
My slashy heart got a good show on Friday
Mar. 31st, 2008 05:57 pmSo Friday night was the Seether/Breaking Benjamin/Three Days Grace concert. O.M.G. So freaking amazing I cannot even say. It was just such a good ROCK SHOW. Ya know? 3DG turned out to be the headliners, which I was hoping BB was. But that was OK. First of all, do people not know how to mosh any more? Sucks so bad. When we got there, we ended up like 10 feet from the stage (it's a standing room only place). We made it through the opening act (a local band called Neverset that was actually really awesome) and most of Seether. About halfway through Seether the bad moshing started. The kind where it's just the random shoving of anyone standing around you. That's not how it works dumbasses. It kind of chilled out. But then Seether got to Remedy and all hell broke loose. Erin started having an asthma attack, almost all of us almost fell at on point, I'm sure. So, we had to get out of there. Luckily some random lady was on the other side, grabbed Erin's hand and we made for the back. It was kind of scary for awhile. But we were OK and the show went on. In the end, I'm actually really glad we didn't try to stick it out or anything cos I would not have been able to enjoy BB if we were still in there. Plus they had started body surfing, too. Ugh. So, as awesome as it would have been to be like 10 feet from the gorgeous Benji, I was happy to be out of the way where I could enjoy the music. Which I did.
So, the title of my post refers to a little part of BB's set. Each band ended up bringing out members of the other bands for like a mini-jam type thing during each set. BB brought out the lead singer from Seether (whose name I cannot remember right now) for this medley thing they did while they tossed out bottled water to the audience. Near the end of the set, Ben made his way back center and started singing along. Seether dude wraps his right arm around Ben's middle and like snuggles him is the only word I can think of to describe it. OMG. I flipped out. It was the most adorable thing ever. Wish I had been close enough to get a pic. Ugh.
BB was AMAZING. Seether kicked ass. 3DG was OK. We ended up leaving early cos we had to get a cab back to the hotel. But we heard what we wanted to hear, so that was cool. I need to see BB again ASAP. And I need a BB icon....

This came about from something on the radio this morning. One of local stations here has started doing a "list" at the top of every hour. They throw out a topic and then play back 4 requests that somehow fit in with that topic. Today, one of the topics was anger and one of the songs played back was Rammstein's Du Hast. This then inspired an argument of whether Hate is Anger, etc. I believe Yoda's quote was thrown out at one point. But then some guy called in and said "Du Hast" doesn't mean "You hate me." It means "You have asked me a question." Well, that's completely different than what everyone assumes it means (just another example of what assuming does). Anyway, I thought I would look up all the lyrics and see if there was an English translation. There is!! So, behind the cut I give you ( the real meaning of Du Hast )
So, a completely different song than what I thought it was. More interesting though, I think...

Ha! Take that!!
May. 9th, 2007 09:39 pmI was driving home today and since the weather is really nice (like, almost 80), so I had the windows down in my car. I get to this stoplight and there's this guy in a Chrysler Sebring convertable (one strike there) and he's BLASTING country music. OMG. No. You don't do that. Country music sux. It does not get blasted. Sorry, to those on my flist that like country music, but, dear God, it makes my ears bleed. So, anyway, I had been listening to the radio, but they were going to commericial, and, honestly, I could not let that crap win. So, I switched over to the CD player which was currently playing the Zero1 album, and oh, lucky me! It just happened to be on track 4 - Animal
. Ha! Take that, yuppy scum!! LOL
But, anyway, can I just say how much this CD rocks? Like, seriously. It kicks ass. I know most of the time "actor bands" tend to suck *cough*Dogstar*cough*. But Hal just rocks it! I honestly have not stopped listening to it since I got it. It is just amazing. :-)

On a lighter note....
Feb. 16th, 2007 05:09 pmA local radio station has been playing this and I finally remembered to track it down on youtube. It's an acoustic cover of "Hey Yeah!" by Outkast and is totally awesome. The guy's name is Obadiah Parker. Seriously, it's like the coolest thing ever. Totally gives some new meaning to the song.
