TV Meme Day 18

Day 18 - Favorite title sequence: I'm gonna go with Psych on this one. More for the theme song, than the actual title sequence. In an age where most TV shows were getting rid of the theme song in favor of 10 second musical "stings" and a title card, Psych kept the theme song alive and kicking. And with special episodes they change it up: the Christmas episodes have jingle bells in them, the Bollywood episode was recorded in Hindi (I think), Boys II Men recorded a version for the ep where Gus was in an a capella group. Thank you, Psych, for keeping it real.

lovellama pointed out, there was also a Spanish version when they did the ep involving the Spanish Soap Opera.

Oct. 16th, 2009 10:06 pmSo, for me, I think the best part of SGU tonight was PDL's cameo. Other than that, it still bores the snot out of me I am sad to say. If there was anything else on worth watching, I would have changed the channel. :-(
Psych, on the other hand, was about 12 kinds of awesome. :-)I really liked the construction of this story with the "flashbacks" and how we came in at the end and had to catch up with Shawn. Definitely a new perspective on the show. So, that was a good way to end the night.
However, I am absolutely EXHAUSTED and will be going to bed now. See y'all tomorrow!

Random Ramblings of the Random Kind
Mar. 2nd, 2009 12:17 pmI am over winter. It snowed again today after the thunderstorm we had last week. And not light, fluffy snow. The heavy, thick, wet stuff. Yuck. Luckily, the drive into work wasn't too bad. But still. I'm done with snow. Go away, please.
Saw Confessions of a Shopaholic over the weekend. It was cute. Definitely a chick flick, but still good. There was a preview for that new 17 Again movie. I think I really want to see it, but I'm almost embarrassed about it. Please tell me someone else out there wants to see it, too.
4 DAYS TO WATCHMEN!!! (Which I keep spelling as Watchment and have to constantly backspace the T. It's getting annoying....)

I think I'm going to change my LJ layout later today. I just can't decide to what. Back to SPN? I've been contemplating a JDM theme. It's hard with all my shows on hiatus for the most part. I also have a new Christian Kane moodtheme to think about installing. That may wait until Leverage comes back and then I'll just have a whole CK/Leverage layout going. We'll see.... What do you think my new layout should be?

So strange how these things go...
Apr. 28th, 2007 10:54 pmToday must have been "Read Switch's Fic Day!" cos I got 3 separate notices for reviews on my stories - 2 on bjfic and one as an e-mail from my website with all my SG stories. It's so weird. I don't get a lot of reviews, so whenever I seem to get this influx like this, it's just odd....
Although one of them was probably the best compliment I think a writer can get - the reviewer said they liked how everyone was so in character. I just love that. Cos that's one of my biggest pet peeves with fic. Just keep in character people. Unless you're writing some strange AU/Past Life/Alternate Timeline thing where they can't stay "true" to character. But even then, keep them recognizable. Otherwise, it's just original fic with stolen character names.
Anyway, today has actually been a fairly decent day. Since the birthday thing didn't happen, we decided to go see Disturbia instead. It was pretty good, I guess. Sort of a modern day update in a Rear Window type of scenario. But the characters were really great, and definitely developed, so that was good. Then we went to The Lone Star Steakhouse for dinner. Mmm...steak... Have leftovers including the loaded cheese fries. Yummy. Came home, played some games. I kicked the hubbies ass in Scrabble. I managed to make QUARTZ on a Triple Word Score. What are the odds? Seriously. I think that ended up being 75 points? It was nuts.
Watched a bunch of Psych, too. But there's something strange. I missed the episode Weekend Warriors where they get involved in this Civil War Reenactment thing. But every episode download I've found for that, is the wrong one. They are all the one with the guy with the multiple personality disorder thing. It's very strange. From different sources, too. I don't get it. Does anyone have it?
So, that's it. Later folks!
