First up - Rob Thomas' new CD Cradlesong. It's AMAZING. Y'all need to go get it right now. Really great orchestrations/arrangements. This one song, Wonderful, has got the full horns/sax back-up and it is GREAT. Even better than the last solo album. Go Rob! :-)

Movies - Christian Kane's Hide is finally out on DVD. Woohoo!!! Then I ran out to Best Buy this morning and got My Bloody Valentine, Burn Notice Season 2 and Atlantis Season 5 with my birthday money. Can't wait to listen to the commentaries on the BN discs. I've heard they're pretty awesome.

All right. Now I must get to the cleaning and laundry. Woohoo.

I've finally gotten around to watching the season 4 Atlantis DVDs. I was planning on just skipping Trio entirely, but when I saw that Amanda was in on the commentary for it, I figured I'd give it a shot to see if perhaps they could lend any insight into the shitty crap that it was.

Yeah, not so much. And here's why Martin is now on my shit-list: He saw nothing wrong with the fact that nothing happened. What?! I'm very happy you're all excited to have David, Amanda and Jewel in a room acting. But ya know what? Given the nothingness that was that pile of crap. I'd rather see David, Amanda and Jewel goofing around for an hour. I'm sure that would have been about 300 times more interesting. Fuckheads....

First off, I'm listening to Hewlett's interview from Gateworld. And he vists the forums. Now I'm worried about anything I may have said.... (and his Australian accent is sexy).

Anyway, moving on to the point of this post: the season premiere of Atlantis. I'm sort of keeping this cautiously optimistic attitude about it. Cos I don't want to not like it. I love the Stargate world and I really don't want to be disappointed. But as I think back over season 4, there's a part of me that doesn't want to remain too hopeful. And I think I've figured out what it was about season 4 that bugged. There were a lot of episodes where nothing happened. But I didn't realize it at the time because I was so caught up with the acting. Which is great. Cos I have nothing but respect for all those guys: David, Joe, Jason, etc. But I would be caught up in the episodes and be mostly loving it. Then I would come here to review or whatever and I would realize, wait a minute. Nothing happened. That was what disappointed me so much about a lot of season 4. Trio is the perfect example of that. You have three characters stuck in a box, how the hell are they gonna get out. Well, they do. But nothing happened. No one was any different from when they went in. *sigh*

Anyway, I want to like season 5. I really, really do. So I hope I do.
